FIRE DOORS REDIFLEX ADJUSTABLE STEEL FRAMES Designed for use in homes, apartments and light commercial applications to achieve fire ratings and security.

The two piece Rediflex adjustable width steel frame solves the difficult remodeling problem of varying wall widths, and also provides certified 90-minute fire rating. The 18-gauge steel frame, which replaces existing wood jambs, is pre-mortised to receive standard hinges, lock strikes and universal deadbolt strikes, allowing easy door and frame installation in less than 30 minutes.

The Rediflex frame includes a kerfed foam weatherstrip, eliminating the need for adhesive-applied weatherstripping, and is offered in six sizes for jamb widths from 4½" to 10½". There is a 1" adjustability within each size to handle wall variations.

FIRE-RATED PERFORMANCE An additional bonus provided by the Rediflex adjustable steel system is the ability to specify a Class “B” fire rating for building codes which demand a 90-minute fire-rated door and a fire-rated steel frame. All Standard Steel-Edge Doors are available with the Class “B” 90-minute label.

Double Door Size

All entry doors must be shimmed to make unit plumb and level before nailing jambs. A sill pan should be used under door for additional leak protection.

This door system has a 1-3/8" threshold height which allows for approximately 1-1/4" from the rough floor to the bottom of the door sweep. This distance may not allow for sufficient clearance to permit the door to swing freely over carpets with a pad. The type of floor covering you are planning to use or that currently exists, in the case of remodeling, will determine whether you need additional height to raise door unit for proper clearance from the finished floor coverings.

Unit includes a temporary skid board that must be removed.

When using an oak or mahogany sill increase RO height by 1/2".

CUT DOWN DOORS: For cut down doors deduct 4" from rough opening to get door size.

PEDIMENTS AND PILASTERS Upgrade your new steel or fiberglass door with a door pediment and pilasters. Horner Millwork stocks the Washington and Jefferson series entrance trim in both primed wood and polyurethane. We strongly recommend polyurethane entrance trim because it will never rot, cup, split, twist, or warp.
