Quality for the environment
Our current consumption is unsustainable, and we produce far too much waste. To minimize the waste and spare material, generated by the production of countertops for the kitchen and furniture market, we established Denwood by HORN in 2016.
Today Denwood by HORN is an integrated interior line in our production facilities, to ensure optimum utilization of our waste, and create greater synergy in the product range.
Quality for our employees
In cooperation with municipalities and jobcentres, we try to help people who, for various reasons, have a reduced working capability, to get their daily working lives back on track. Historically we do this, by training them in the production of especially the interior line, but also our main production of countertops. For this work, HORN Business Group won the CSR People Prize in 2022, in the category “Green and Social responsible workplace”.
In 2023 we achieved the B Corp certification, for our demonstration of high standards of verified performance, accountability and transparency on social and environmental impact.
In 2024 we launched the “Aulum Mile” project, where we, in collaboration with other local companies, go the extra mile to help vulnerable young people, in the local community, enter the labour market.
Quality for you
The goal of Denwood by HORN is to utilise the world’s resources in the best possible way, challenge current consumption patterns and help you make a more sustainable choice. All products are produced according to high quality requirements for both design and durability, and we hope that you will take good care of your Denwood by HORN product.
CERTIFIED
All solid wood are FSC certified.
This ensures that our wood is traceable from well-managed forests, where they care about the conditions for the animals, environment and people related to the acquisition.
Furthermore our cutting boards and oil are also approved for food contact.
PRODUCT INFORMATION
Oil treatment
We recommend continuous maintenance with oil, as it brings forth the natural glow of the wood, protects against cracking and makes it resistant to grease and coloured liquids and food. Frequency depends on usage. If you use the product every day, maintenance with oil is recommended 2-4 times a year.
Maintenance guide
• To ensure optimum absorption, work on completely dry wood.
• Apply plenty of oil in circular motions on all sides and edges.
• Let the wood soak the oil for 24 hours (preferably in airtight bag). Any excess oil can then be wiped off with a dry cloth.
• Leave the wood to dry. This ensures that the wood have time to absorb all oil before you use it again. It is recommended to use a natural oil, however an oil with food approval can be used as well. - eg. HORN maintenance oil.
Daily cleaning
Daily cleaning is easily done with lukewarm water and a sponge or brush. However, always remember to wash the wood on both sides, to prevent it from bending. After washing, wipe thoroughly with a towel. After using the product for food, meat and similar, you can pour over some boiling hot water to kill bacteria.
Avoid
• Dishwasher and soaking the product in water, as it may result in cracks.
• Leaving leftovers, as it may penetrate the wood.
Smell
In case of a lack of maintenance and daily cleaning the wood may start to smell a bit. This can be fixed, by giving the wood a rinse with vinegar. Remember to clean the wood thoroughly with water afterwards.
Minor scratches and stains
If you want a deeper treatment, which simultaneously removes scratches and stains, a good advice is to use: Salt and lemon.
• Apply a thin layer of salt on the wood.
• Take half a lemon and rub it around the surface with the salt beneath.
• Wash off excess salt with hot water.
• When the wood is completely dry, a maintenance treatment with oil is given.
Scratches
Scratches in the wood can be removed with fine sandpaper (grain 220). Wipe gently and remember to wash with warm water, and proceed with a maintenance treatment with oil, when the wood is completely dry.

SALE AND DELIVERY TERMS AND CONDITIONS
1. Application and validity
A. Any delivery of products shall take place pursuant to the sale and delivery terms and conditions stated below unless these are deviated from with a specific written agreement.
B. The Buyer’s specification of special terms in the offer material, orders, etc. shall not be deemed to be a deviation from the below terms and conditions, provided HORN Bordplader A/S has accepted these in writing.
C. These terms and conditions shall only apply to sales through distributors.
2. Force majeure
A. The Buyer shall not be entitled to compensation or to cancel the agreement in the event of lack of fulfilment if this is due to force majeure.
B. The following circumstances shall entail no liability for the Seller when they occur after commencement of the agreement and prevents or postpones fulfilment of the agreement: War and mobilisation, terrorism, riots and unrest, natural disasters, pandemics/epidemics, cyber attacks, strikes and lockouts, product scarcity as well as insufficient or delayed deliveries from subcontractors, fire, insufficient transport options, currency restrictions, im port/export restrictions and other circumstances on which the Seller has no influence.
C. Among other things, terrorism is understood as - but not limited toan action that involves the use of violence or a threat to use violence, committed for political, religious, ideological or ethnic reasons or justification, with the intention to impact a government and/or to spread fear among the public or parts of the public. This shall apply regardless of whether the action is taken by a person or several persons and regardless of whether the actions are of own accord or in connection with one or more organisations and/or authorities. In order to characterise the action as terrorism, it shall be assumed that the action is capable of impacting a government and/or spreading fear among the public or parts of the public. If fulfilling the delivery is impossible or made difficult because the hindrance to fulfilment is permanent or of a long or indefinite duration, HORN Bordplader A/S’ obligation to fulfil the delivery shall no longer apply.
D. In these cases, the Seller shall be entitled to cancel the order or a part of the order or to deliver the product once the hindrance to fulfilment has discontinued.
3. Venue
A. For any issue regarding service or disagreement, the parties shall attempt to resolve these amicably.
B. If the disagreement and dispute cannot be resolved between the parties, this shall be decided by the court in Herning and by applying Danish law.
C. The parties shall be mutually obliged to allow action to be brought against them by the court which processes compensation claims that are made by a third party against one of the parties regarding product liability.
4. Quotes/orders
A. Offers shall be non-committal and may only be considered as guidance and non-binding unless otherwise agreed on in writing.
B. Orders between the Buyer and HORN Bordplader A/S shall only be con sidered as commenced once the order confirmation has been forwarded.
C. Any objections the Buyer may have against the content of the order, cancellation or amendment shall be made in writing and be in the hands of HORN Bordplader A/S no later than 8 days after the stated deadline.
D. The correction period for standard assortments is 9 working days, however 12 working days for stone order.
E. The correction deadline for project orders is generally 16 working days, but may be may be changed in certain cases, e.g. for larger orders. This is stated from order to order.
F. Replacement and speciality items are not returnable and orders where these are included the correction deadline does NOT apply.
5. Prices
A. The final price shall be apparent on HORN Bordplader A/S’ order confirmation. The prices shall be given on the basis of market prices ex warehouse and include VAT when nothing else is specified.
B. Should changes occur in the abovementioned factors, including the conditions mentioned in the section regarding limitation of liability, HORN Bordplader A/S shall reserve the right to perform corresponding adjustment of the sales price for the price increases that have occurred prior to the delivery of the product. HORN Bordplader A/S shall also reserve the right, without liability for HORN Bordplader A/S, to cancel the orders HORN Bordplader A/S has accepted, if the aforementioned factors or conditions cannot at all or only against disproportionate sacrifice be remedied by HORN Bordplader A/S.
C. Reservation is made for printing errors.
6. Delivery and installation
A. If nothing else is agreed, delivery shall occur for the Buyer’s own account and risk.
B. Any delivery date disclosed by HORN Bordplader A/S shall be estimated and HORN Bordplader A/S shall, therefore, not be liable for the consequences of delay which exist within the limitation of liability. For example, this shall apply to strikes, transport accidents and any other form of force majeure.
C. Delivery with installation shall assume that everything is prepared with unhindered access, correct installation of cabinets and that all cut-outs have been made.
D. Transport routes where carrying shall be performed must be level, cleared and well-lit. The surface must be stable and may not be slippery.
E. Transport routes must also have sufficient head clearance and width so the handling can be performed in a fully upright position.
F. For larger project deliveries, the block, storey and apartment must be visibly labelled on site.
G. If the recipient is not prepared for delivery/installation or if the transport routes are not as prescribed, the product shall be placed in a dry location or returned to HORN Bordplader A/S without subsequent repayment. If HORN Bordplader A/S is to deliver the counter tops again, this will be invoiced.
H. The Buyer shall not be entitled to cancel the order and compensation shall not be paid as a result of delayed delivery.
I. If it is not possible to obtain a signed receipt from the recipient, the delivery shall be at the Buyer’s own risk.
J. Transport damages or flaws must be reported to the driver and be noted on the consignment note.
K. In the event that the buyer does not accept delivery at the time of delivery, including breach on the obligation to collect the delivery, HORN is entitled to cancel the agreement and assert claims for compensation.
L. HORN is entitled to sell or store the products at the buyer’s expense. In case of storage, the products remain at the buyer’s risk.
SALE AND DELIVERY TERMS
7. Payment
A. The payment terms shall be net cash upon delivery.
B. If other terms are agreed, the right to change the payment terms shall be reserved.
C. If the Buyer cannot fulfil their payment obligation, HORN Bordplader A/S shall be entitled to cancel the agreement without liability.
D. If the Buyer cannot keep to the payment deadline specified on the invoice, HORN Bordplader A/S shall reserve the right to withhold further deliveries until payment has been made. In such case, HORN Bordplader A/S can change the payment terms.
E. If the payment terms are not complied with, interest of 1.5% per month shall be calculated on the due outstanding amount for each commenced month.
F. In the event of delayed payment, HORN Bordplader A/S shall be entitled to calculate a reminder charge of DKK 100 for each reminder letter.
G. The Buyer shall not be entitled to withhold any part of the purchase sum as security for fulfilment of any counterclaim regarding other deliveries, and such withholding shall be considered as non-compliance of the agreement.
H. HORN Bordplader A/S shall reserve the right of ownership to any delivery until the purchase sum with additional charges and any interest has been paid.
8. Returns
A. Products shall only be accepted as returned following agreement with HORN Bordplader A/S.
B. Specially manufactured products or products that are manufactured accor ding to measurements shall not be accepted for return.
C. The product must always be returned in HORN Bordplader A/S’ original and undamaged packaging. If the original packaging is damaged, it shall be incumbent on the Buyer to ensure responsible packaging.
9. Defects
A. The Buyer must immediately upon receipt inspect the product and ensure that it is without flaws/defects.
B. In the event of flaws/defects, the Buyer shall be obliged to notify HORN Bordplader A/S within seven (7) days from delivery of the product about the flaw so that this can be acted upon.
C. Complaints must be reported via HORN Bordplader A/S’ online service form, which can be found at www.hornbordplader.dk
10. Warranty
A. HORN Bordplader A/S’ general guarantee is for 30 years for countertops delivered after 1 July 2022. The guarantee shall be applicable from the delivery date and covers production flaws and defects, material defects as well as functional capabilities.
B. The warranty for the rest of the product range is as follows:
1) A 5-year warranty is provided on sinks and insertion of these.
2) A 2-year warranty is provided on welded joints on GetaCore/Corian®
3) A 2-year warranty is provided on interior products, including kitchenware, small tables, cutlery trays etc.
C. In order for the guarantee to be applicable, it must be possible to document the purchase and the delivery. This can be done by presenting an invoice/order number.
D. Exceptions to these guarantees are: Products that have been exposed to violence, misuse, overloading, water damage, insufficient maintenance, cleaning with unsuitable products, incorrect storage or incorrect installation as well as ordinary wear and tear and scratches that can be attributed to daily use of the counter top. There shall likewise be no guarantee on accidental damages and consequential damages. Guarantee shall not be provided on manufacturing that is not performed by HORN Bordplader A/S (e.g. cut-outs) as well as consequential damages (e.g. heat and moisture damages from installed domestic appliances).
E. The guarantee from HORN Bordplader A/S shall only cover the repair or exchange of defective products. HORN Bordplader A/S shall have the
right to repair flaws or defects on delivered products. Compensation shall never be provided for loss of profit, loss of time or any other form of indirect loss.
F. The Buyer shall indemnify HORN Bordplader A/S to the extent the Seller imposes liability in regard to a third party for such damage and such loss which the Seller, according to this section, the second and third sections, is not liable for in regard to the Buyer. The Seller shall not be liable for damages caused by the material:
1) on property or movables, which occurs while the material is in the possession of the Buyer,
2) on products that are manufactured by the Buyer or on products in which these are included or for damage to property or movables which these products cause as a result of the material.
G. In no instance shall the Seller be liable for operating loss, loss of profit or other financial consequential loss.
H. The Seller’s liability cannot in any instance exceed DKK 2 million.
I. If there is indication of transport damages, this must be noted on the consignment note. In the event of a receipt without remarks, the product shall be considered as being in order upon receipt.
J. Products that have flaws or defects may not be installed or used without written agreement from HORN Bordplader A/S as the installed products will be considered as approved. Visible defects will therefore not be covered by the guarantee.
K. The Buyer shall be obliged to become familiar with HORN Bordplader A/S guidelines for transport, storage, installation, maintenance and utilisation.
11. Limitation of liability
A. HORN Bordplader A/S shall not be liable for operating loss, loss of profit, lost earnings or other indirect loss on account of the agreement, including indirect loss that occurs as a result of delay or defects of the sold products. Liability for damages in regard to HORN Bordplader A/S cannot exceed the invoiced amount for the sold item or the sold service, however, maximum DKK 200,000.
B. HORN Bordplader A/S’ obligation to perform delivery is postponed in the following instances without the possibility of raising a claim against HORN Bordplader A/S and without the agreement for delivery being cancelled:
1) In the event of strike, lockout or other work stoppages at HORN Bordplader A/S’ company or at another company from which necessary deliveries for this order are manufactured,
2) In the event that HORN Bordplader A/S’ subcontractors for necessary deliveries for the relevant order go bankrupt, enter into a bankruptcy reorganisation process or are otherwise is impacted by an event, etc. as described in this provision,
3) In the event of force majeure (see section 2).
11. Privacy Policy
A. For HORN Bordplader A/S, it is important that the data protection policy ensures that information is processed responsibly with respect for privacy and in accordance with legislation. The data protection policy describes how HORN Bordplader A/S processes personal data about our customers and which rights the customer has in this respect.
