Besides being a recipient of residual products, Denwood works in cooperation with municipalities and jobcentres to help people who, for various reasons, have reduced working capability to get their daily working lives back on track. This is because we have both an environmental and social responsibility and believe in the value of helping other people.
In 2022 HORN Business group won Cabi CSR People Prize in the category ”Green and social responsible workplace”.
Our current consumption is unsustainable and we produce far too much waste. Thats the reason behind the establishment of Denwood by HORN which was founded in 2016.
The concept of Denwood is based on utilizing residual wood and waste products from HORN and other companies, and design them into new products. Denwood has a circular mindset and prioritize durability and recyclability, as the core of our business philosophy.
We wish to utilize the worlds resources in the best possible way, by challenge current consumption patterns and influence you to make a sustainable choice. All products are produced according to high quality standards for both design and durability.
All solid wood are FSC certificied.
This ensures that our wood is traceable from well-managed forests, where they care about the conditions for the animals, environment and people related to the acquisition.
Furthermore our cutting boards and oil are also approved for food contact.
We recommend continuous maintenance with oil, as it brings forth the natural glow of the wood, protects against cracking and makes it resistant to grease and coloured liquids and food. Frequency depends on usage. If you use the product every day, maintenance with oil is recommended 2-4 times a year.
• To ensure optimum absorption, work on completely dry wood.
• Apply plenty of oil in circular motions on all sides and edges.
• Let the wood soak the oil for 24 hours (preferably in airtight bag). Any excess oil can then be wiped off with a dry cloth.
• Leave the wood to dry. This ensures that the wood have time to absorb all oil before you use it again.
It is recommended to use neutral oil, however a natural oil with food approval can be used as well.
Daily cleaning is easily done with lukewarm water and a sponge or brush. However, always remember to wash the wood on both sides, to prevent it from bending. After washing, wipe thoroughly with a towel. After using the product for food, meat and similar, you can pour over some boiling hot water to kill bacteria.
• Dishwasher and soaking the product in water, as it may result in cracks.
• Leaving leftovers, as it may penetrate the wood.
In case of a lack of maintenance and daily cleaning the wood may start to smell a bit. This can be fixed, by giving the wood a rinse with vinegar. Remember to clean the wood thoroughly with water afterwards.
If you want a deeper treatment, which simultaneously removes scratches and stains, a good advice is to use: Salt and lemon.
• Apply a thin layer of salt on the wood.
• Take half a lemon and rub it around the surface with the salt beneath.
• Wash off excess salt with hot water.
• When the wood is completely dry, a maintenance treatment with oil is given.
Scratches in the tree can be removed with fine sandpaper (grain 220). Wipe gently and remember to wash with warm water, and proceed with a maintenance treatment with oil, when the wood is completely dry.

Inspired by the nature and with a focus on mixing the materials and exploit even more residual products, our design teams made this new series ”New Moon”, which contain trays and coffee tables in several sizes. The series have a build-in compact laminate plate which can easily be switched between different colours and patterns. There are one optional plate included in the price.

• All delivery of goods takes place according to the Sales and Delivery Terms and Conditions as set out below unless otherwise expressly agreed in writing.
• The buyer’s statement of special terms and conditions in quotes, orders etc. is not regarded as deviation from the terms and conditions set out below unless Denwood by HORN has accepted such special terms and conditions in writing.
Force majeure
• The buyer is not entitled to compensation or to terminate the agreement in the event of failure to fulfil the obligations of the agreement, if such failure is due to force majeure.
• Force majeure is if one party or a sub-supplier cannot procure raw materials or manpower for the delivery due to stipulations by the authorities, strikes, lockout, boycott, blockade, fire, accidents, flooding, water famine, operating disturbances, disruption of traffic or similar event which could not have been predicted by Denwood by HORN at the time of entering into this agreement.
• Quotes are not binding and should solely be regarded as a guide and non-binding unless otherwise agreed in writing.
• Orders between the buyer and Denwood by HORN are only regarded as having been agreed when Denwood by HORN have submitted an order confirmation to the buyer.
• Cancellation or changes to an order will only be regarded as accepted if Denwood by HORN have accepted these in writing.
Prices
• The final price will be stated on Denwood by HORN order confirmation. Prices stated are current stock prices and exlusive VAT unless otherwise stated.
• Denwood by HORN reserves the right to make changes to prices, specifications and currencies without notice at any time.
• Denwood by HORN cannot be held liable for misprints.
• Unless otherwise agreed, delivery takes place at the buyer’s risk and expense.
• All delivery dates stated by Denwood by HORN are estimates. Denwood by HORN cannot be held liable for the consequences of delays that are beyond Denwood by HORN’s control. This applies to strike, transport accidents and other types of force majeure.
• The buyer is not entitled to cancel the order and no compensation resulting from delayed delivery will be paid.
• If the recipient is not available to sign for the delivery, the delivery is at the buyer’s own risk.
• The driver must be notified of transport damage or defects and this must be added to the consignment note.
• Payment terms are net cash on delivery.
• Unless otherwise agreed, Denwood by HORN reserves the right to change payment terms.
• If the buyer cannot meet his payment obligations, Denwood by HORN is entitled without liability to cancel the agreement.
• If payment is not made on time, interest of 2% will be charged on the due amount for each month or part thereof that payment is not received.
• In the event of delayed payment, Horn Bordplader A/S is entitled to apply a reminder fee of DKK 100 for each reminder issued.
• The buyer is not entitled to withhold any part of the purchase price as security for fulfilment of counterclaims pertaining to other deliveries and such withholding will be deemed to constitute breach of contract.
• Returns are only possible when agreed with Denwood by HORN.
• Special orders or goods produced to customised measurements cannot be returned.
• Goods must always be returned to Denwood by HORN in their original and undamaged packaging. If the original packaging has been damaged, it is theresponsibility of the buyer to ensure that the goods are securely packaged.
• The buyer must without delay on receipt of the goods inspect the goods and ensure that they are free of errors/defects.
• In the event that the buyer discovers errors/defects to the goods, the buyer is under obligation within seven days from delivery of the goods to notify Denwood by HORN of the defects.

• The warranty covers production defects and defects, material defects and functionality.
• Exceptions to these warranties include: Products that have been subject to violence, misuse, inadequate maintenance, cleaning with unsuitable products as well as ordinary wear and scratches that can be attributed to daily use of the products.
• The warranty offered by Denwood by HORN solely includes repair or exchange of defective goods. Denwood by HORN have the right to repair faults or defects in delivered goods. No compensation is offered for operating losses, loss of time or other form of indirect loss.
• If the goods show signs of transport damage, this must be added to the consignment note. If Denwood by HORN receives a receipt without notes, this will be regarded as the goods having been in order on delivery.
• It is important for Denwood by HORN that we protect the personal information you share with us. We therefore operate a privacy policy that ensures that your information is treated responsibly, that respects your privacy and, of course, complies with applicable legislation.
