E F The collection is based on the idea of 2 layers that are folded out of one continuous surface and echo a Mรถbius strip. The inner layer works as corsage and is in close contact with the body thereby holding the 2nd layer that drapes the silhouette. Since both layers are one piece there is a characteristic fold where the inner layer is reverted and doubles as outer surface. The folding reveals both sides of the fabric and this opportunity is taken up by some strong colour contrast between face and reverse of the material. The collection is based on classical tailoring but transforms types by the surprising relationship between inside an outside that also effects new details.

The model wears a cocktail dress that gains volume by the hasty shuffling together of single stripes of white fabric. The model steps onto a circular pedestal and slowly removes the belt through the loops of the stripes that now cascade down in full length and touch the ground. The surface on which the model stands is a mirror. Now the stripes fall regularly and allude to the fluting of a corinthian column, the proportions of which traditionally have been related to the body of an adolescent girl. the mirror image obliterates the ground so that the model/column seems to float.

Topic: a mix of man and fish. Silhouette: swimming and diving equipment, high class beach style. Concept: with this collection I went for sportive elegance. I tested surfaces for their aquatic effects and qualities mixing functional apparel made of natural materials with very refined pieces. Less colour, more details, and almost no patterns in order not to disturb the silhouette.

Topic: Surfaces in contemporary architecture. Silhouette: a knight’s armour. Concept: to protect the body with fabrics that are treated to look like iron and concrete (eisenbeton). The silhouettes are massive, especially towards the tops, to impress with an almost building-like feeling. I used many layers of fabric that can be removed by peeling them off with a multitude of zips. These clothes are armours, influenced by contemporary surfaces in architecture, that protect and transform the body.

Topic: The Russian youth of the early eightees. Silhouette: The military uniform meets the national dress. Concept: This collection is dedicated to Viktor Tsoy, a Russian Icon of the eighties. His band Kino was one of the seminal punk outfits in the Sowjet Union. It had an audience of young people that were not willing to fit into the political system. Russia in the eighties was a very unstable and dark country. It sent people to war that were still kids and therefore needed a strong group identity to survive. The collection is almost all black, mixing leather with soft knitted elements. Patterns are sharp-edged and many details relate to uniforms. I tried to blend the attitude of village boys with metropolitan elegance.
