Richard Konopka Vice-President Operations With a diverse background of knowledge and skill in the environmental services industry Richard Konopka brings his expertise in direct operations and multi-facility management to Horizon Services. For 20 years Richard Konopka has spent his career in the Assisted Living and Long-Term Care industry where he demonstrated his ability to manage operations on all levels, ranging from local site to multi-state divisions. Throughout his career, Richard has concentrated on providing outstanding customer service and unparalleled customer satisfaction. Richard's proven record of innovative and effective staff development has allowed him to build some of the industry's most dynamic and resourceful teams.

David Ouellette Director of Operations David has successfully led numerous s multi-unit teams during the past 13 years ranging from 6 to 18 retail stores. In addition, he has planned and coordinated numerous store remodels while overseeing operations for multiple facilities David has over 15 years of experience with senior leadership. David’s skill set includes Executive mentoring and coaching; Talent analysis; optimization of operational functions; Project management and leadership; Customer and employee relations; and leading organizational change.

Guillermo Belgrave Operations Manager - Janitorial Cleaning Services Division Guillermo has been with Horizon Services for 4 years and works directly with our customers and field employees to ensure customer satisfaction. Prior to joining Horizon, Guillermo held the role of Area Manager for a popular home improvement store overseeing the daily operations of 29 retail chain stores throughout the Northeast Guillermo’s experience includes quality control, payroll, human resource management, training, inventory management, customer service, and event coordinating.

Great talent requires strong leadership and at Horizon that leadership comes from BSCAI Registered Building Service Managers (RBMS) certified in account management, work loading and staffing requirements. The strengths of our existing managers allow Horizon to grow operations personnel from within our organization ensuring that our operations team shares the same vision of customer care and service excellence.

Background check includes criminal and work history. Psychometric screening ensures employee to account match, performance evaluations based upon quality scores, productivity and customer satisfaction.

To guarantee you never miss a night of service we address the issue of absenteeism in the following way: - Advance Notice from Service Technicians: no less than 4 hours of notice to the supervisor, which is in possession of a back-up list of qualified technicians for specific accounts.

- T-Traccs Automated Time Tracking: this system immediately alerts operations if any single employee has failed to report for their scheduled shift. Within one minute of the scheduled start time, account management/supervision can contact the appropriate back-up employee and dispatch them to the worksite. This measurement has virtually eliminated the problem of no-show absenteeism and ensures us an uninterrupted service to the customer.

Quality Control At Horizon we do not have a mission statement; we have a mission. Horizon has always been on the cutting-edge of technology and trends in cleaning and maintenance industry. Recently we took the next step by moving our existing quality inspection system to a fully web-based system designed by industry experts.

By using the latest industry technology, we ensure our customers receive the best possible service. All our accounts are inspected monthly by our Operations Supervisors. These inspections are supplemented by visits from our Vice President of Operations to ensure that nothing is missed.

Our new system also allows us to take all of this one step further by putting our quality control tools directly in the hands of our customers. Any customer can access the most recent quality inspection data via a web portal, report issues, and request work changes. Any request is immediately sent to the full Operations team, allowing for real time detailed response to all requests. In addition to our monthly Quality Inspections, we utilize the following checks to ensure all needs are being meet and nothing is missed: Cloud Based Quality Inspections. Safeguarding Our Environment When the concept of green cleaning began to gain momentum in the 1990’s, many people considered it to be a misnomer. Most of its proponents were part of a larger cultural wave that sought to curb the hedonistic consumerism of the 1980s with a shift towards more environmentally conscious consumption. During this time we also saw the beginnings of a shift towards things that are common today, recyclable packaging, lower emission cars, and a general concern about the impact of our actions on both the environment and our health.

While others were still laughing, Horizon Services was already making the shift to more environmentally preferable chemicals. Our commitment to green cleaning has only grown stronger over the years. Currently 93% of all cleaning chemicals we purchase are certified green, with the remaining 7% being items that do not yet have a recognized green alternative available. Cleaning Industry Management Standard (CIMS) When the International Sanitation and Supply Association announced it had created a comprehensive, consensus-based cleaning management standard for the building service industry, Horizon was eager to be a part of the pilot program. Preparing for the assessment Horizon was given the opportunity to go over each of our procedures with a fine-toothed comb, review them as an organization and receive feedback from other industries experts.

Customized Scope of Service

Bathrooms: Bathrooms are to completely cleaned as follows: All bathroom mirrors are to be cleaned.

All trash is to be collected and removed.

All floors are to be damp mopped with a disinfectant solution.

All dispensers, fixtures, sinks, and counters are to be cleaned with a disinfectant solution.

Toilets and urinals are to be scrubbed with a brush using disinfectant, cleanser, or toilet bowl cleaner, and are to be completely wiped clean on the exterior.

Restock all paper products, hand soaps, seat covers. (Consumables supplied per unit costs or by customer) Spot clean walls, partitions, and doors.

Dusting and Detailing: Dust and clean horizontal surfaces of workstations (high to low) – do not clean computers, electronics.

Spot clean doors, frames, walls, and switches, and light fixtures.

Kitchen/Break Areas: Clean and disinfect kitchen, kitchenette & breakroom counters, tables, and sinks.

Straighten and organize magazine tables and conference room furniture.

Closing activities: (per customer request on unoccupied building): Per visit: All lights will be shut off. a. Specific lights can remain on per customer request.

Internal doors will be locked and rechecked, per requests.

All utility closets will be straightened out and locked.

Building alarm will be set, doors locked and rechecked

No equipment, products or items, unless specifically mentioned, are included in the pricing provided above. Cleaning chemicals are defined as glass cleaner, floor detergent, and disinfectant used by Horizon staff in the cleaning process. All prices are subject to 6.35% Connecticut sales tax, as well as future government taxes and charges, unless the customer has provided a sales tax-exempt certificate. Sales tax is not included in pricing.

Price listed includes only those services and products specifically listed in the proposal.
