Are you ready for DMR? THE EXPERTS AT RADIOREGULATIONS.COM HAVE CREATED A FULLY AUTONOMOUS SITE TO EXPLAIN THE UNITED NATIONS/FCC MANDATE OF NARROWBANDING. In addition we have included an explanation provided to the PYA specifically for the Luxury yacht industry.

The recent narrow banding regulations to switch from a 25kHz signal spacing to a 12.5kHz has driven the move to the DMR technology.

It is useful to know that this is an interim step as the regulations will move to 6.25kHz signal spacing. Agencies such as the FCC are enforcing these narrow banding regulations which, if not followed, could result in loss of equipment and heavy fines.

Narrow banding allows greater use of the radio spectrum which was becoming saturated by an increasing number of radio transmissions.

Analogue radios are not capable of achieving 6.25KHz channel spacing where DMR has been designed to meet these future specifications.

The recent ITU-R M.1174-3 document has already provisioned 12.5KHz and 6.25KHz Digital channels stipulating modulation standard 4FSK must be used, this is the standard already used by DMR technology, it is worth noting that TETRA utilises modulation standard 4DQPSK which has not been listed by the ITU as approved.

The hardware such as handsets is constantly changing and evolving. Just as Samsung or Apple phone are hardware so are Motorola or Hytera handsets.

In addition the software such as Vesselwatch that creates intelligent radio systems is software as is android or IOS on Smart phones.

Crew Call Quick Text Accepted

Crew call Conjure a crew member from your iPad. Crew Call is a standard application within VesselWatch, allowing Users to request assistance from Crew members. The system is integrated with existing AV systems the APP can be downloaded onto existing IOS devices such as ipads/iphones and ipods. The system utilises the system software to create a stylish call button and notified the Crew through their VesselWatch Digital Mobile Radio’s [DMR].

Crew Call

Once the Crew accepts the request the User is notified instantly that a stewardess is coming. When the owner/guest sends the request this is accepted by one of the stewardess this is easily identified by the Owner/guest through a subtle change in the APP interface.

The Crew Call function is available as standard, however Users requiring additional functionality and control can take advantage of our bespoke design service to rework the layouts and functions to their exact needs.

An Ipod is located in a fixed position on-board with a unique ID to enable Crew to locate the User. Once the crew accept the call, the User receives feedback to state whom as accepted.
