Horizon LC operate the two leisure centres at Havant and Waterlooville with a variety of activities for the community:

Programme & Timetable Changes

Due to high demand it is always best to book in advance for classes and courses in person at either Horizon Customer Services or by calling 023 9247 6026 for classes at Havant Leisure Centre or 023 9224 5900 for Waterlooville Leisure Centre.

Horizon LC make every effort to ensure classes and courses run in accordance to the timetable, however, please note that classes and courses may be subject to change or cancellation.

Platinum members and Leisure Card holders can book up to 7 days in advance.

Non-members can book up to 2 days in advance with payment, which is non refundable!

If a class or course is changed at late notice Horizon LC will publish changes on the website and the Horizon LC Facebook page.

Access

Parking

Horizon Leisure Centres are fully accessible with ramps, lifts and wheelchair access to all areas. Hoists are available to access swimming pools if required. Both centres have designated changing and toilet facilities.

Parking at Havant is available adjacent to the Leisure Centre in the Havant Borough Council car park. Parking is charged Monday – Friday 8.00am – 6.00pm and a 24 hour charge at weekends and Bank Holidays.

Waterlooville Parking at Waterlooville is free to Horizon customers while using the centre.

In addition there are a number of disabled priority spaces available.

Crèche The Crèche at Havant Leisure Centre provides a safe and fun environment for your children aged up to 6 years. The Crèche is fully registered with OFSTED and all of our Crèche staff hold nationally recognised child care qualifications.

Let us look after your children while you exercise or relax with the many activities on offer at Havant Leisure Centre.

Cancellation & refund policy

Using the Crèche at Havant Leisure Centre is included FREE as part of Platinum Membership. All sessions must be pre booked at reception. The Crèche can be booked up to 7 days in advance for free; block bookings past the 7 days available for courses only and are chargeable. Open Monday to Thursday 9am-4pm, Friday 9am - 3pm.

Members can cancel a class with at least 24 hours notice.

Cancellations less than 24 hours may be charged.

If a class or course is cancelled or changed Horizon LC will make every effort to contact customers to inform them of changes. In addition, Horizon LC will communicate this information via the Horizon website www.horizonlc.com and on the Horizon Facebook page.

Please note: Should facilities be closed for longer than 28 days to undertake essential maintenance or refurbishment and the other Centre is not available, membership will be extended for the duration of the closedown after the 28th day to the nearest whole month.

Horizon Gyms The gyms at Havant and Waterlooville Leisure Centres offer some of the best value for money exercise facilities available in the area. Staffed by fully qualified friendly fitness instructors, who will offer you great advice and motivation to help you achieve your exercise goals.

Horizon gyms have a great range of fitness and strength machines. The majority of our equipment is supplied by Life Fitness, the UK’s premium supplier of exercise machines.

The new Gym is now open at Waterlooville Leisure Centre.

The Platinum memberships covers usage for both centres as well as access to group exercise classes and swimming. For prices see page 3. Horizon Gyms also offer a Pay as You Go option for casual users.

Age limits – customers can join the gym as a member from the age of 14. Members aged 14 and 15 must be accompanied by an adult gym user at all times of use.

Members of Teen Workout sessions will need to be between the ages of 10 - 15 and be accompanied by an adult on their first session.

Teen Workout Teen Workout is a supervised session in the gym for young adults aged between 10 and 15 years.

It includes a free induction for the fitness machines, no strength training is permitted. A parent or guardian

must accompany each participant on the first session to sign a consent form and provide proof of age.

Personal Training

Gym Based Classes

Personal trainers are available to help further your training ambitions. Please contact a member of the gym team for more information on personal training.

Each week there are a number of classes based in the gym including HIITS, Express Circuits and Functional Training. For further information visit the Horizon website or pick up a Group Exercise brochure. An induction is required prior to attending classes.

Exercise Referral

Gym Etiquette All bags, racquets and clothing are to be put into the lockers provided. All gym users must wear appropriate clothing and footwear (no jeans, flip flops or bare feet).

Machines must be wiped down after use with the disinfectant and paper towels provided. All free weights and bars are to be returned to their racks after use.

Opening Times

Horizon Leisure Centre’s Exercise Referral Scheme helps people who would benefit from increasing their physical activity levels. The scheme is in partnership with Havant Borough Council, The NHS and Macmillan Cancer Support.

Swimming Both Havant and Waterlooville Leisure Centres have a 25m main pool and a separate learner pool. Havant also has a 1m springboard with a diving depth of 3m and a shallow area (0.5m) adjacent to the main pool. Waterlooville has a tiered seating area for 300 spectators making the pool ideal for watching galas and competitions.

Swimming Lessons The Horizon Swim School teach over 2000 children each week between both Havant and Waterlooville Leisure Centres. The programme is progressive and lessons range from range from beginners to advanced.

Baby Swimming Lessons

Junior Diver

We start swimming lessons for babies at 3 months after they have had their second set of injections (if you have any doubts, consult your midwife or doctor first). Our parent and toddler lessons provide a great introduction to water confidence, with games, singing and toys in the pool. Swimming lessons are also a great way for new mums and dads to have fun with their babies and meet other parents.

In this class pupils will be taught how to perform: Tucks, pikes, rolls, forward and backward somersaults from the pool side for beginners and the springboard for advanced. The pupil will eventually be able to perform a plain header and racing dive. Swimmers will need to be at least 8 years old and of Level 7 standard.

Adult Swimming Lessons

Swimmers should be of at least level 6 standard and have confidence in the deep water. Levels are available for beginners, intermediate and advanced.

We run classes for adults of all abilities from the nonswimmers wanting to learn to competent swimmers wanting to improve their technique. So if you want to keep up with the kids or grand kids on holiday or train for fitness or triathlons make Horizon Leisure Centres your choice for adult swimming lessons.

Junior Swim A fun session for junior swimmers concentrating on improving stamina and fitness, whilst also improving swimming skills and technique. It is open to any swimmers who have completed the Horizon Learn to Swim Programme or have passed an assessment by a member of the Swim Team.
