BUZZCREATORS BUZZCONNECTORS BUZZAMBASSADORS CREATING A BUZZ WHEREVER WE GO
THE ART OF BUZZ Hi!
This is a vision to ignite you into being all you were designed to be – the best you could ever be. It’s a vision to see you expecting great things from your God, confident in His grace and favour, allowing His dream for the world to capture your imagination and heart. It’s a vision to see you move from just being a Buzz Creator to becoming a Buzz Connector, connecting people to the heart of God , to each other, to His family and to their God-given future.
It’s a vision to see many become Buzz Ambassadors, using all of their talents and giftings to become fire-starters, forerunners and future leaders of the greatest movement our world has ever seen – the real Church in motion! This, Hope City, is The Art Of Buzz.

They once said to Jesus - ‘John’s disciples often fast and pray, and so do the disciples of the Pharisees, but yours go on eating and drinking.’ (Luke 5:33) Jesus and his disciples had gained a reputation for liking food. So much so, the ‘religious’ people made the claim that Jesus was ‘a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners.’ (Luke 7:34). I suspect if it wasn’t for all of the walking they did, the disciples would have had a slight problem with their weight! Their reputation wasn’t helped by the first ever miracle of
Jesus – the turning of water into 600 litres of wine. Why did Jesus do that? What was it about Jesus love of ‘parties’ that gained him his warped reputation?
Passover and to say his goodbye to his disciples at ‘The Last Supper’, and he used food – a good, hearty fry up - to reinstate Peter back into the fold.
He used food to cement his relationship with Matthew the tax collector and to bridge the gap with all his ‘mates’. (Luke 5:2731). He used food to affirm salvation with Zacchaeus (Luke 19:510). He used food to commemorate the
Jesus mission was clear – ‘to seek and save that which was lost’ (Luke 19:10). And now his method was clear – to use miracles (to capture the imagination) and food (to pave the way). Food, glorious food was the ‘Jesus Way’ of reaching out. And we must do the same!

THE Theology of food
1. Everyone is up for a meal. A lot of people who would say “no” to attending a church event would say “yes” if invited out for a meal with you! 2. It makes you real. Food is a relaxer and shows off more of the real you. 3. It frees up the conversation. Food makes it less one tracked, less direct, more free flowing and much easier to do. It’s agenda free. 4. It’s an act of generosity. It’s a present – a gift in a culture that finds it hard to receive gifts.
5. It subconsciously links you with comfort and joy – and that can only be a good thing. 6. It lends itself to stories, not soundbites. Your narrative is your greatest friend to seeing others wanting what you’ve got. 7. Everyone gets hungry. With over 21 opportunities a week and over 1000 meals a year, there are a lot of conversations to be had! WELCOME TO HOPE CITY FC...HOPE CITY FOOD CHURCH PS. A good exercise routine must accompany the vision above otherwise who comes to Hope City Church will become far too noticeable!

WHAT WILL YOU GIVE THIS SEPTEMBER...
The Rise and Build offering is one of our two annual offerings in Hope City. It’s a purpose driven offering, specifically linked to our buildings and future facilities.
D L I U B & E RIS TEMBER 2012 P SE 30 AY D N SU & FRIDAY 28 (AND SUNDAY 7 OCTOBER)
OUR GOAL THIS YEAR IS TO RAISE £150,000 ACROSS ALL OUR CONGREGATIONS. £75,000 will be to reduce our mortgage on our Sheffield and Leeds Megacentres. £75,000 will be to create a new Megacentre for our Liverpool Congregation. We’ve seen a building next to Liverpool One - in the heart of Liverpool that’s ready for leasing but will need a new internal layout. It’s a perfect address for Hope City - and it’s through this place (that used to be a mission for seafarers) that we could see incredible growth and outstanding outreach.
