Does Your Child Need Speech and Language Therapy? If your child struggles while speaking or while making certain sounds, you need to take an action before it gets too late. These problems mainly occur at the time of birth. In Apraxia, there is a lack of proper connection between the brain and the muscles that are responsible for speech. In Dysarthria, the muscles of the mouth become weak which limits the child’s ability to speak.
