Alumni Profiles: An Interview with former Medical Humanities Scholar, Kaustubh Sagdeo, M.D. Interview conducted by Dr. Sarah Tracy In 2000, the University of Oklahoma Honors College and College of Medicine launched the Medical Humanities Scholars Program (MHSP), an eight-year BA-MD program. This joint venture was the first of its type in the State of Oklahoma, and it was designed to
prepare some of Oklahoma’s and the nation’s most talented young people for careers in medicine by integrating the humanistic and social scientific study of health, disease, and healing with traditional medical training. The hope was to cre-
