Demolition on the North Central Missouri College campus ing and former Bookstore building are all coming down. This will create space to extend the parking lot next to it with some area to seed for additional green space to be used in the future for development and growth. NCMC’s Chief of Staff, Kristi Harris, said “We are excited about the continual revitalization we bring to downtown Trenton and look forward to utilizing all of our new spaces for future campus expansion.”

11th Annual Cops ‘N Bobbers Fishing Event Held

With near perfect weather on Saturday, June 3, the Trenton Police Department hosted 56 local children at the 11th Annual Cops ‘N Bobbers fishing event.

Numerous fish were caught as area kids spent the morning fishing with the Law Enforcement Officers and First Responders.

After fishing with equipment provided by the Missouri Department of Conservation at the NCMC Barton Farm Campus pond, the youth were treated to lunch by CFM Insurance. The event’s newest sponsor, Quail Forever, provided additional activities and prizes for the participants.

Event Co-Sponsors for the event were North Central Missouri College, the Missouri Department of Conservation, CFM Insurance and Quail Forever.

Community Partners, along with those who donated prizes for each of the kids registered for the event, include American Sportsman Rod & Gun; Hy-Vee Food Store; PAR Broadcast Group; Trenton Republican-Times; Henry Rifles; Zebco; BTC Area Youth Benefit Corporation; St. Joseph Mustangs; Des Moines Menace; Iowa Cubs; Kansas City Monarchs; Casey’s General Store; Midway USA and 365, LLC Digital Billboards.
