Safe at Home Class Offered

The Grundy County Health Department will hold a Safe at Home Class on Tuesday, June 13 from 9:00-10:30 am at the GCHD office at 1716 Lincoln St. in Trenton.
Safe at Home is a 90-minute program designed for students in grades 4-6 to prepare them to be safe when they are home alone for short periods of time.
Students learn how to practice safe habits, how to prevent unsafe situations, and what to do when faced with dangers such as power failures or weather emergencies.
Class fee is $5 per person and a light snack is included. The class is open to girls or boys in grades four through six. Persons may register online at www.grundycountyhealth.org/safe-sitter. Deadline for registration is June 11.

GCHD Offers Safe Sitter Class
The Grundy County Health Department will hold a Safe Sitter Class on Wednesday, June 14 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm at the GCHD office at 1716 Lincoln St. in Trenton.
Safe Sitter is designed to prepare students in grades six through eight to be safe when they are home alone, watching younger siblings, or babysitting. The course is led by certified instructors and includes practice of rescue skills like CPR and choking rescue.
Class fee is $20 per person and lunch is included. Class is open to girls or boys in grades six through eight. Persons may register online at www.GrundyCountyHealth.org/safe-sitter. Deadline for registration is June 11.

WMH, HMC and Saint Luke’s Health System Invest in NCMC
During an event recently held at The Gardens at Hedrick Medical Center, Steve Schieber, CEO of Saint Luke’s Critical Access Region, announced support for the “Transforming Lives, Empowering People” major gifts campaign with a check presented to North Central Missouri College President Dr. Lenny Klaver. The Transforming Lives Garden Social hosted by Hedrick Medical Center and Wright Memorial Hospital brought medical professionals, community members, and NCMC representatives together to learn more about the campaign and highlight the importance of the working relationship between the institutions.
