“Stan” Peery, an 89-yearold resident of Jamesport, died at 1:38 p.m., Friday, April 7, 2023 at Sunnyview

Nursing Home in Trenton.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at the A.V. Spillman Event Center in Jamesport. Burial was in Edinburg Cemetery, west of Trenton.

Slater-Neal Funeral Home in Trenton was in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Peery was born September 6, 1933 in rural Edinburg, the son of Homer and Anna Shaw Peery. He was a retired grocery man. He was a vet-

Linda Kay Stevenson, a 73-year-old resident of Trenton, died at 7:35 a.m., Friday, March 31, 2023 at Eastview Manor Care Center in Trenton.

Her body was cremated under the direction of Slater-Neal Funeral Home in Trenton. Burial of cremains and a Celebration of Life will be held May 6, 2023 at 2 p.m. at Maple Grove Cemetery in Trenton. Jerry Roberts will officiate.

Linda was born November 11, 1949 in Princeton, the daughter of Charles Orndorff and Marjorie Lois Hamilton Sparks. She was eran of the Korean Conflict serving in the U.S. Army. He loved hunting and fishing.

He was a member of the Jamesport Baptist Church and Jamesport Lions Club.

On January 8, 1996 he was married to Karen Joyce Huffman at Miami, OK.

His survivors include his wife Joyce of the home; one daughter, Andrea Frazier and husband, Kelly of Trenton; two sons, Kent Peery and wife, Lauri of Booneville and Tim Peery and wife, Irene of Kansas City; one sister, Phyllis Anderson of Trenton; six grandchildren, ten great-

a loving mom, grandma, loved spending time with her grand babies and looking on the computer.

Her survivors include three daughters, Pat Stowers of Trenton, Cynthia Bowers of Trenton and Heather Souders of Centerville, IA; two sisters, Betty Baker of Trenton and Margaret Hostettler of St. Joseph; seven grandchildren, Jayna Templeton, Jon Stowers, Charity Ward, Dakota Bowers, Christy Wiegand, Lillyaunna Bowers and Destini Souders; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one grandchildren; one stepdaughter, Wendy Bell of Los Angles, CA; and one step- son, Tom Mitkowski of San Antonio, TX.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters, Katherine Greenway, Virginia Tolle, Fauntine Gleason and Alice Kuhn; and one brother, Woodson Peery.

Memorials are suggested to the Jamesport Lions Club or Jamesport Baptist Church and may be left with Slater-Neal Funeral Home in Trenton.

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - An intersection improvement project on Grundy County

Route 6 at the intersections of 30th Avenue and Route 146/W, located just west of Trenton, was scheduled to begin this week. The Missouri Department of Transportation has contracted with Phillips Hardy, Inc. to complete the project which includes widening Route 6 at both intersections and constructing dedicated left and right turn lanes. Grundy County Soil and Water Conservation District District Specialist Technician

Full-Time job opening as the District Specialist Technician with Grundy County Soil and Water Conservation District. Soil and Water Conservation Technicians assist soil and water conservation districts in the implementation of total resource management system plans and provide assistance in conservation planning.

Some of the tasks required by district technicians are to gather preliminary data for conservation plans and develop a plan to implement conservation actions.

On a day-to-day basis a technician gathers preliminary data for use in developing physical resource plans and papers on the history of land use. After this, the technician then surveys, plots, lays out, and stakes selected sites and assists landowners in selecting, installing, and maintaining a variety of measures that conserve and improve soil, water, air, plants, and animals.

Some examples of conservation practices that may be installed on a land site include ponds, dry holes, grass waterways, terraces, seeding, cover crops, well decommissioning, pest management and grazing systems.

Additional Job Requirements: The applicant will be required to work in extreme temperatures as well as in the office. Strong computer skills, good public relations skills, strong public speaking skills, mathematical skills and mechanical skills are required for this position. A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Starting salary is $15.00 per hour with room for advancement. Benefits available: health insurance, retirement, paid holidays, sick leave, and vacation. Must have a valid driver’s license and pass a background check.
