“We are the only city in Missouri that has the Jefferson Highway signs,” Wood says with pride. “I got the email this weekend saying we were awarded one of the two grants. I asked for $1,000, but still don’t know for sure of the amount. I’m hoping to receive the check very soon. We would like the Jefferson Highway to be more recognizable here and throughout Missouri, maybe just like Route 66.”
