Score Road/Sport For Bridgestone and Michelin the rankings Handling performance are merciless. Being placed fifth – and Maneuverability therefore closing the ranks in the comSteering precision parison – is naturally hard to take for the Cornering stability T 30 EVO and the Pilot Road 4. NeverCornering stability, sport theless, a glance at the rankings shows that Grip on banks both tires didn’t actually perform that Grip during acceleration badly and we’re now nit-picking at the Straight-ahead stability highest level as real blunders are no longer Threshold behavior an issue. Overall, it appears that the manufacturers have done their homework. Nobody wants Handling performance Maneuverability to compromise with only ten points Steering precision separating first and last place. This is not Grip on bends really that dramatic. What is interesting, Grip during acceleration however, is the new balance of power. In Limit range last year’s test, Metzeler ousted Michelin Braking deceleration from first place. Now, with Conti and Pirelli in the mix, two more touring tires are vying Braking distance (m) from 100 km/h Speed (km/h) reference range for the top prize. Our gloomy prediction is Lap times (min) that Michelin will not stand for this much Total longer.

Roads/everyday: (140 points, 1st place) With first-class performance on the road, the new Conti touring tire demonstrates the handling and agility already prized in its predecessor, the RoadAttack 2 EVO. The razor-sharp precision and outstanding feedback (particularly at the front) will appeal in particular to sporty touring fans – in fact, they will be thrilled by it. After only the first few meters, the RoadAttack 3 excels thanks to its excellent response and impresses with its neutrality and stability when quickly weaving through bends. Slight lift is only experienced when braking during banking.

Wet test: (91 points, 2nd place) The EVO predecessor had already stepped it up in the wet and the new 3 series turns up the heat an extra notch. A forgiving limit range, excellent feedback and therefore a real pleasure to test – this Conti tire will put you in a good mood even in bad weather. Conclusion: Hard riding along roads is and remains the domain of Conti. The new RoadAttack 3, however, is not only the king of touring – the tire is now rain champion too, making it the 2017 overall test champion.
