The businessman explained his problems, and the old man wrote him a check, saying, “Take this money. We will meet here in exactly one year, and you will be able to return it to me at thatThetime.”businessman looked at the $500,000 check and thought of all the problems it could solve. But instead of depositing the check in the bank, he put it into his safe. The check inspired him to think of some new ideas, which gave him the confidence to pursue several potential deals. His company started to turn a profit again, and he was out of debt in a couple months.

To start this story, I'm going to do something unusual. I am offering a recipe. It is easy, fast and great for those of us that must continue trying to keep our attractive youthful bodies. It's good anytime of day, but works well to take the place of oatmeal in the morning, plus it tastes like eating chocolate cake. It's called a skinny muffin. The recipe was passed to me by a friend and I hope you will enjoy it too.

Another reader shared a story about wells. On a farm south of Kensington, MN two men were digging a well with pic and shovel. They had reached a depth of about 30 feet when poison gas entered the pit. It resulted in the deaths of both men. The danger of well digging in history included many poison gas stories, along with stories about cave-ins and injuries and deaths from falling rocks. Whether plant or animal, there is a need for water. I wonder why there wasn't more concern about finding water prior to creating a farmstead. I guess the early settlers were frequently so excited about finding a location after a trip for weeks and months in a farm wagon, they thought that now that they got there, nothing was going to stand in their way.

Another friend expressed frustration with our school system and how the media reports what is happening in our schools and I think many us will agree. Country schools didn't have sports. The students were taught the 3 R's along with history. The students were accustomed to homework after the evening home duties were completed. There was also an added incentive for learning, which was the required knowledge needed to pass the test to get into town school for a high school education. Today's news from the schools seems to be all about sports. Sports is a good thing, but has it surpassed the schools educational goals? The local school sports news in the local paper frequently occupies 2 to 3 pages of a 6 page newspaper. The local radio stations report sports for about 1/3 of the newscast. It's uncommon to see or hear stories about how some students have made

While at St. Mary’s, she was befriended by the Mechels family. Both Shari and Randy Mechels were her students and as the years passed, she became their surrogate mother- she considered Shari and Randy her kids. Sheila was part of the Mechels family. She enjoyed spending time outdoors with them hunting and fishing. She was very proud of the fact that she once bagged an 8-point buck.

She is survived by her brother Myles J. Milner Jr. of Kent, WA, her sister Mary Ellen Milner Otis of St. Paul, numerous nieces and nephews, and her dearest friend Lois Mechels.

I really enjoy your radio show which I listen to via iTunes podcast. My wife drives a 2012 Chevrolet Tahoe 4WD with a 5.3-liter Vortec engine and 117k miles. The A/C tensioner pulley on the passenger side front bottom of the engine has been banging on the transmission cooler lines at the bottom of the radiator when the A/C was on and the engine under load. I thought maybe the bearings may be bad so I replaced the assembly but that didn't fix it. The belt is not very old, so I don’t suspect that. I recharged

And second, I’ve got a feeling it will fire up your wife, and get her on board with the idea of you two getting your finances in order even more than she alreadyShe’sis. taking this whole thing pretty seriously if she’s eyeballing interest rates, buddy. She loves the thought of you two having control of your money. Use this momentum to work together as a team, and knock out that debt! -Dave

get what you’re saying about the truck. And I agree that transportation is a necessity. You guys might be in a bind if something happened and you lost a vehicle, but it’s also a situation you could probably work around for a little while if you had no choice. My guess is you have friends or relatives who could loan you a car in a pinch, and public transportation is an option for some folks. So yeah, knock out the credit card first, then move on to the truck.

Overheating issues with a Grand Caravan can be caused by multiple issues. You’re supplying us with some details helps narrow down the cause. I can tell you that if the engine is running hotter than normal the computer can shut down the A/C to protect it. The A/C system needs to run at the proper temperature, or the compressor will be damaged and that is why this happens. This vehicle has a common issue with the fan relay which is a solid-state unit. When the unit fails you can lose both fans or just the low speed fan which I think may be the case in your situation. With this fan not running the A/C will overheat and be shut down and the high-speed fan will only run when the temp gets to the higher range needed to activate it. That is why the gauge would read higher than normal. Have a shop check the fans and the fan control circuit and repair necessary problems in the circuit; after that they can properly check the A/C.

For entertainment only. Always consult your local shop and follow all safety procedures before repairs. Come visit the Motor Medics® online at Underthehoodshow. com.

Start by checking the A/C compressor by using both high- and low-pressure gauges. I suspect you may find you have a blown A/C compressor head gasket which causes fluctuations in the low and high pressures resulting in changing loads making the tensioner act this way. I have seen this situation more than a dozen times in our shop. This is often caused by improper charging or a failed fan clutch which has caused A/C system overheating so check the fan clutch as well. When you charge the system adding refrigerant too fast can cause this as well so be Takecareful.care, the Motor Medics

Dear Motor Medics, I have a 2003 Dodge Grand Caravan and the air conditioning has failed. The vehicle also runs hotter than before. MoundRon.Lake access- Ray began by shouting at Ron that he messed everything up and should not have been a part of it since Ray is the Road supervisor, not Ron. Tim from the DNR office asked that the Township not do anything on the road until he got back to them. The discussion quickly went to a sign (minimum maintenance) that Ray put up. Ron stated that both Greg Butler and Tim from the DNR office had been emailing him, as he was the designated contact person. Much discussion on whether the sign should have been put up or not. Ron gave the emails to the clerk to read, in which Tim from the DNR office stated the sign had not been approved nor did he think it was necessary and would be con fusing to residents. Greg Butler's response was it should not have been put up.
