No Bones About it Hard Act to Follow
Manuel Molina, MD, President I would like to start this address by thanking our membership for this opportunity to serve as President of the West Virginia Orthopaedic Society (WVOS). I am extremely proud and honored to hold this position. Briefly about myself, I am a practicing orthopaedic surgeon in private practice in Charleston for the last 28 years with Orthopedic Healthcare Associates, in partnership with Dr. Tony Majestro and Dr. David Ede. Our association to me has been an incredible blessing. It has been productive and very successful. My primary focus in orthopaedics is shoulder, hip and knee reconstructive surgery as well as arthroscopic sports medicine surgery.
I have lived in West Virginia since the age of six. I attended Marshall University for both undergraduate and medical school. I completed a residency and fellowship at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, TX in 1993. I have been fortunate to have a successful practice and expect to eventually retire from active practice in WV in the next 1020 years. During this time, I’ve had the opportunity to work with incredibly gifted and driven WVOS members. Since my initial arrival in Charleston until now, I have been watching and working with the founding members who built our association into an awardwinning society. Now at the age of 62 and being considered one of the “old guys,” hopefully I can continue this work advocating for the generational changes required to advance us into the future. In moving on, I would like to acknowledge the incredible job performed by our immediate past president, Dr.
