Over £250 raised for Alzheimer’s Linda generously donates books Earlier this month was #ReadABookDay, and what better day to introduce you to one of our lovely clients who has her very own story to tell. Linda, a client of Home Instead Senior Care York & Ryedale since 2015, is a published author, compiler, and an editor of children’s books. Here she is with Titus’s Troublesome Tooth, a children’s book written by her in the year 2000! Linda has very kindly donated us some of her books to lend out to our CAREGivers, to read to their children and grandchildren!
On Saturday 1st September, Home Instead Senior Care York & Ryedale entered a team to complete the Memory Walk at the York Knavesmire. The aim of the walk was to raise money for The Alzheimer’s Society, so they can continue their research into Dementia. The Alzheimer’s Society’s research programme aims to improve care for people with dementia today and finding a cure for tomorrow. Home Instead have already raised over £250 for the Alzheimer’s Society from the walk, however, it’s not too late to still donate! If you’d be interested in sponsoring, they have set up a Just Giving page here: http:// www.justgiving.com/owner-email/ pleasesponsor/HOMEINSTEADYORK-RYEDALE
