A VERY WARM

WELCOME

In 1999, Nelson Mandela stood on the balcony of the SA embassy in London’s Trafalgar Square & looked over a sea of freezing cold South Africans. “I love you all so much,” he said, “I want to put you in my pocket and take you home.’' We all roared and wept. This was the turning point for me. After living abroad for 7 years, I returned home to a continent alive with possibility. I am reminded of the famous words from Thabo Mbeki’s I am an African speech “Whatever the setbacks of the moment, nothing can stop us now! Whatever the difficulties, Africa shall be at peace! However improbable it may sound to the sceptics, Africa will prosper!” Every generation believes that they will be the ones to change Africa. Yet our generation is blessed to be alive during a time of unprecedented growth & development on our incredible continent. This is our time to turn the ‘Africa Rising’ ideal into a reality. We welcome the fantastic companies & speakers, especially our VIP keynote speaker former president Thabo Mbeki. We welcome our incredible guests who hail from all corners of the African continent, and who are each in their own way, contributing to the African renaissance. I wish you a wonderful afternoon of intra-African networking, career climbing, speed meeting, idea-sparking & relationship building. Onwards & Upwards
