Many members of the Otto family were involved in the 15K-square-foot home which took almost two years to design and build. “My brother is a fantastic architect, and he knew exactly what our family wanted,” describes Keith Otto. “I knew he was the one to draw this house.”
The creative process of Danielle selecting every accessory extended to the rugs as well. Chris Smith of Designers’ Rug Center assisted in the selection of two key rugs in the master bedroom and the family sitting room. “Both are from Jaipur, India and are hand-knotted. The pink rug in the sitting room is an antique Heriz design using contemporary colors. And the gray rug in the master is woven by one of India’s finest weavers featuring various levels of silk in the pile,” describes Smith. Danielle’s mother and father will be living in the adjoining guest home to be completed next month. Her mother Cecelia Colombo delighted in being involved throughout the design of this spectacular family compound. “My mom actually designed some of the custom furniture in the home. She has incredible taste,” raves Danielle. Well, it appears the apple has not fallen far from the tree.
