you see her in the “I Am Not I” music video, you’re unable to look away- hypnotized. Her translucent blue eyes penetrate, drawing you in as you fall deeper under her spell. With her flawless, dewy complexion and dark long hair, Liza creates a video packed with mystery and intrigue; she could easily be in a “Game of Thrones” scene. single “Dynamite” in 2014. Impressively, “Dynamite” peaked at number 11 on the U.S. iTunes HOT 100 Weekly Electronic Chart in May of this year and number 33 on the U.K. Music Week Upfront Club chart in March. It’s a triumph for Liza and those fighting the horrors of domestic abuse alike. The singer-songwriter is best known for her “American Idol” appearance in season ten. She was the first contestant in San Francisco and is portrayed by MTV News as a “sexy video vixen.”

FOX And she makes it look so easy. Indeed Newton Lee, the executive producer of “I Am Not I,” knows the enthrallingquality of Liza’s music. “(People) are attracted to Liza because of her femininity, intellect, charm and talent. She has both brains and beauty. She is not a simple woman.” Quite the opposite from simple, she’s beautifully complex. But, it’s Liza’s ability to plunge herself into the complex sphere of human emotions that allows others to relate with her. “I would love every fan to find at least one song that resonates with their current feelings of themselves. As long as they find something that resonates with their mood, (and it) inspires them to go toward something in their life, I’m happy.”

There is great power in music, especially when it sheds light on essential causes.

And that’s exactly what

the “I Am Not I” album by Liza Fox and producer DJ Jus Grata has done. But it wasn’t without intense emotional pain and transition for Liza. In fact, much of the ‘darkness’ in the song and video can be traced back to an encounter Liza had with a man who had the power to turn her former ‘cheery’ world into a dark and oppressive place of depression. This man brought out what Liza describes as a ‘dark side’ she never knew she possessed; and through his influence, she began to realize things about herself and her vision of reality that greatly influenced her stability. As a result, the video was markedly more gothic and tinged with gloom. Many artists express themselves in their craft by exposing their emotions in their music and videos. The experience was a double-sided sword; one that carved away the more innocent and naïve side of Liza while developing another of inner turmoil and pain. Indeed, it was a seesaw of ups and downs Liza will never forget. And while the experience did have a significant influence on her album “I Am Not I,” she’s eternally grateful this period of growth is behind her. “I have mixed feelings. It’s good to feel the other side of oneself, it makes me more complete. I have much more perspective in life now. I never realized how much (the simple joy) of a cup of coffee or tea meant to me. I didn’t appreciate everything before as much as I do now, especially my family members and those closest to me.” And to turn the page from the dramatic experience, Liza’s reclaimed her happier-self and “lightened up” by dyeing her hair blond. It’s a ‘softer’ and more ‘serene’ look for this provocative singer who exudes energy in her songs and videos. Undoubtedly, Liza’s raw talent results in an album with songs that take you on a journey of the senses; one which tantalizes the mind with mixed feelings. Like Liza’s colorful personality, her songs also exhibit each distinctive color shining in the rainbow; each lighter and darker hue. One embarks on a zealous dancing-dynamic disposition with her single “Unlimited” to an imperious sort of trance while deciphering the complex meaning behind “I Am Not I.” Think of her album as perfect for both a high-intensity workout and for setting a sultry mood. Rarely does an artist grasp so many 8 HOLLYWOOD WEEKLY

“Newton Lee’s wisdom is what nourishes my creativity. Without it I wouldn’t have wings to fly.” -Liza Fox diverse sentiments within only one album. And this is just one of the reasons Liza Fox is so far distinguished from other singers and songwriters. Perhaps her new self is best described within the lyrics of the powerful song “Unlimited” also on her “I Am Not I” album. “In my song ‘Unlimited’ I remind people that everyone has a chance, and that we don’t have limits, that limits are just fears we come up with ourselves and we shouldn’t allow them to worry us.” Certainly, a pivotal part of Liza’s success is derived from the guidance given by Newton Lee. Really, he’s proved to be the very wind beneath Liza’s wings. “Newton is not only my guide, (but) he’s guiding me through my life process and guiding my relationship with industry people. His wisdom is what nourishes my creativity.... without his wisdom I wouldn’t have wings to fly.” Clearly, she’s flying. You’ll recognize Liza from some of her other hit songs including “Insane in F#” that was aired in the Lifetime original movie Cheyenne, “Gimme All (Ring My Bell)” which peaked at number 12 on the U.S. Billboard Dance chart, “Free” that promotes equal rights and social justice, and “You Turn Me On” which was featured in numerous commercials and TV shows. Her enigmatic allure is what keeps her fans coming back for more. Just wait until her next album hits. See, Liza will cast a spell on her fans; and what makes it most intriguing is the fact that they want to be under her power.

EXECUTIVE PRODUCER

LEE

QUINCY JONES AND NEWTON LEE

Newton Lee, Executive Producer of the “I Am Not I” album by Liza Fox and Jus Grata, is no stranger to music. Lee dabbled with music composition before he studied computer programming. When he was in high school, he and his best friend would go to the Hong Kong Arts Centre every weekend to listen to hours of classical music.

He spent 10 years from 1996 to 2006 at The Walt Disney Company making children software and musical games. To celebrate the first anniversary of a Disney website, the Disney Online “Love Crew” wrote the song “Keep the Love Online” and chose Lee to be the lead rapper for the E. Huff and Puff Newton remix.

Although Lee majored in electrical engineering and computer science at Vincennes University and Virginia Tech, his songwriting hobby did not dwindle. As soon as he landed his first full-time job at AT&T Bell Laboratories, he bought a

Jay L. Cooper. “Music has a powerful effect on everybody: Children, adults, animals, plants, everything,” said Quincy Jones in his interview. “It’s, I think, one of the abstract miracles and phenomena. I’m glad I made up my mind to be in it a long time ago because you can’t see it, you can’t smell it, you can’t touch it, you can’t taste it, but you can feel it. It can just light up your whole soul.” Full transcripts of the four interviews were published in Lee’s 2014 book Digital Da Vinci: Computers in Music that encourages polymathic education and interdisciplinary studies in the digital age empowered by computer science.

As the founding president of Bell Labs’ Star Trek in the 20th Century Club, Lee produced the first-ever “Intergalactic Music Festival” to showcase international songs and cultural dances. Indeed, music abounds in the Star Trek universe: Leonard Nimoy wrote and performed the song “Maiden Wine” in the original episode “Plato’s Stepchildren,” and Mr. Spock played various musical instruments in “Charlie X,” “The Way to Eden,” and “Requiem For Methuselah.” In the 90’s, Lee co-developed Shari Lewis’ Lamp Chop Loves Music interactive game as well as five Disney’s Animated Storybooks: The Lion King, Winnie the Pooh and the Honey Tree, Pocahontas, Toy Story, and The Hunchback of Notre Dame – some of which were featured in the Billboard Magazine.

Since 2010, Lee has executive produced EDM and dance-pop songs that have charted on U.S. Billboard, U.K. Music Week, and U.S. iTunes HOT 100 (Electronic) as well as appeared on American Idol and Lifetime original movie Cheyenne. His personal musical taste is quite diverse – he enjoys listening to alternative, choral, classical, country, dance, electronic, opera, pop, R&B, rock, and world music.

INSTITUTE FOR EDUCATION, RESEARCH & SCHOLARSHIPS Lee is also the founding president of the California-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit Institute for Education, Research, and Scholarships (IFERS) which supports a diversity of educational projects through creative media including: 1. Liza Fox and Jus Grata’s “I Am Not I” album to raise awareness of bipolar disorder that affects 60 million people worldwide including 14 million Americans; 2. The High School Music Company project in association with Hollywood Global Change to make dreams happen for gifted high school students; 3. The UNICEF (United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund) theme song “Get It Together” by Pau Gasol (LA Lakers 2008-2014) and Broshigeez (originally formed by apl.de.ap of the Black Eyed Peas);

4. The female director’s fight for education to raise tuition money for award-winning filmmaker and AFI student Destiny Thomas who escaped child abuse and neglect from a religious cult that treats women as second-class citizen; and 5. More than 2,800 library holdings of academic books including the Getting to Digital series “Disney Stories,” the Digital Da Vinci series “Computers in Music” and “Computers in the Arts and Sciences,” and the Total Information Awareness series “Facebook Nation” and “Counterterrorism and Cybersecurity.”

FULL TRANSCRIPTS OF THE FOUR INTERVIEWS OF LEGEND QUINCY JONES, MP3 CO-INVENTOR PROF. KARLHEINZ BRANDENBURG, TOMMY BOY RECORDS AND NEW MUSIC SEMINAR CO-FOUNDER TOM SILVERMAN, AND ENTERTAINMENT ATTORNEY JAY L. COOPER WERE PUBLISHED IN LEE’S 2014 BOOK DIGITAL DA VINCI: COMPUTERS IN MUSIC THAT ENCOURAGES POLYMATHIC EDUCATION AND INTERDISCIPLINARY STUDIES IN THE DIGITAL AGE EMPOWERED BY COMPUTER SCIENCE.

BIPOLAR DISORDER A True Story By Elizabeth Regal

Well, talking about my disability and life-long hardship with Bipolar Disorder is a sensitive subject and was I reluctant to openly speak about this subject considering being a professional actress, writer, and producer in the media. Newton Lee, Executive Producer of the “I Am Not I” album by Liza Fox and Jus Grata, has been a longtime colleague of about 10 years, and I decided to reach out and talk about this with total trust in him. I can say, it’s unfortunate the ignorance people have, as well as passing judgment in our society about such a medical condition as Bipolar Disorder. Bipolar Disorder is a medical condition of rapid mood changes from depression to mania. I really did not notice the change until I was about 16 years old, which started with depression resulting in poor concentration, low energy, frequent migraine headaches, suicidal thoughts, isolation, loss of appetite, and spaced out thinking. It did not dawn on me until later in life I had a problem. I always knew I was different being an unusually intelligent high-achiever, super creative inventive person, and surges of energy mixed with suicidal thoughts of depression. I knew I was different from others and have struggled in so many areas of my life. Before my success in show business that has taken 20+ years, I struggled with maintaining stable employment, living standards, daily activities, organization, and family and love relationships.

Elizabeth Regal

When I was about 18 years old, off to college I started to notice the mania beginning, but disregarded this as normal and just being an unusual misfit in life. I grew up in the South of Knoxville, Tennessee and you imagine who a liberal manic artist fits into a conservative environment. I know from experience that Bipolar

someone is Bipolar. I went years without medication or treatment, which I read in many articles that being untreated for Bipolar Disorder can result in brain damage, as well as other long-term effects. I was immediately put on Lamictal and within 6 hours I felt an unusual change in my mood from depressed to normal. I used this medication for 1 year and then went off of it again. In denial, shortly thereafter my life spun out of control again. I moved to Los Angeles at this point with no money, a big dream, and over the top grandiosity leading me to compulsive shopping sprees, rage, fights, irritability, hallucinations, tough living situations, unable to hold employment, random encounters with men, poor judgment, getting lost not knowing where I was. I have lived on skid row and many bad neighborhoods jumping hotel to hotel, sober living to sober living, and even lived in my car for 2 months with no place to live and no job. I had to result to welfare, donating my plasma for money, pawning everything I own, and food banks to feed myself. I went another 10 years like this all over Los Angeles and NYC in constant emotional and suffering that cut like a knife. I lost my father to lung cancer in 2008 and at that time I was on my own ever since with no family to help. It is unfortunate that I have never had a relationship long-term with any of them. I took off for NYC to escape in hopes the problems were external and not me. In bereavement over my father I found a rundown apartment in a dangerous

I will never fully understand God’s plan and why he chooses some to suffer more than others. I can honestly say that, due to the struggles in my life, I have an unusual inner strength and wisdom that has reached and inspired many people. Being an artist I truly bear a life of struggle and hardship, being a normal path of creatives. I continue to be one of the few successful functioning artists that have found an incredible connection with God, unconditional love from friends and colleagues all over Hollywood. control or is accompanied by great feelings of grandiosity where the person feels that he or she can do anything. They may come up with all kinds of irrational projects or schemes that they are convinced are real and possible, and they become so convincing (they are often very charismatic) to the degree that others can be pulled into the vortex of excitement and energy and get taken along for the ride. When someone is in this manic phase, they are extremely emotionally driven, can be impulsive, restless, and may not feel the need for sleep. Their normal decision making capabilities can become compromised and they are likely to behave recklessly, not only financially, but they can engage in risky behaviors such as excessive drinking, drug taking or unsafe sex. Fifteen to twenty percent of those experiencing this manic phase may die from being in an accident or altercation of some form, or by taking their own life. It’s as if they feel nothing can affect them, and therefore become unreachable and have little desire or ability for self-care. This can get played out in devastating ways in relationships, where one is often positively seduced by the inductive energy of the bipolar partner only to then be berated or mistreated, sometimes violently. This kind of emotional and physical mistreatment is hard to bounce back from. And the emotional turbulence that often characterizes bipolar relationships is

THE BIPOLAR SPECTRUM BY DR. MICHAEL MONGNO

frequently too much for anyone to handle, so relationships end prematurely (close to 90 percent of marriages involving a bipolar person end in divorce). One would need a strong constitution in order to remember that no matter how real it may all seem, it’s a terrible polarity or fantasy the bipolar partner is living out. The healthy partner must try extremely hard not be reactive and to have compassion for who the whole person really is. I recall one of my patients despairingly begging his wife to try to understand saying, “Think what it must feel like to be me.” The best the healthy partner can do is to attempt to firmly and compassionately bring the bipolar sufferer back to a present moment reality, in hopes of helping them remember what’s normal and to realize a more stable emotional state. Of course the reverse happens at the other side of the polarity when the bipolar partner begins to slip into a sad or hopeless mood and continues spiraling into a dark, deep depression. He or she can become lethargic and often loses interest in activities they would normally enjoy, including sex, they have trouble concentrating or making decisions as it is indeed the polar opposite of the highly charged, driven manic phase. This polarity within the bipolar spectrum feels as awful as the manic phase, perhaps even more so, since as with any depression it feels like there is no hope, no way out and that it will last forever; most suicides and suicide attempts occur during this state or a mixed bipolar state.

“Probably as you get older you just feel, you know, what’s the difference? It’s not going to change anything… But some things just become less important.”

-ACTOR ROBERT DE NIRO

A selection of Robert De Niro’s quotes are below: • Taking the role of Vito Corleone: Getting the part changed my career, or revved it up, if you will. Then winning the Academy Award [for Best Supporting Actor], you’re kind of guaranteed that you’re going to work again as an actor. • Working with Martin Scorsese: Ask any actors who work with him. They love Marty because he’s very easy, he goes with your ideas, he’s very, very flexible, and takes whatever he can from every actor. Yet he’s very clear as a director, and guides it, the piece, in the direction he feels he should. He gives you a lot of support. I think that we were just lucky to work together all those times…It was always a joy. • Reaction to NOT being cast for “Boardwalk Empire” on HBO, produced by Martin Scorsese: Marty didn’t ask me, but that’s fine. • Being a director: You have to make all the decisions, you have to make them quickly at times…it’s hard to give up certain things, but you have to. When you shoot them you might have to give them up anyway for the overall story, the overall picture, and sometimes it’s hard to give them up because you’ve put so much effort into those scenes and you don’t have enough objectivity. And you have to balance what is good for the picture and what you want. • Moving into comedy: I didn’t worry about that too much. After Analyze This, Jay Roach asked me if I wanted to do Meet the Parents. I liked Jay a lot, so that’s how it started. • Actors who have influenced him: Brando’s great actor, I always mention him, James Dean, Montgomery Clift as the three that I was affected by. • Who he wants to work with next: I’d like to do something with Leonardo DiCaprio. On his personal life: Despite his prolific acting career, De Niro has long been known to stay out of the spotlight when off-screen. He discusses life in New York, a busy business portfolio and making time for his children. HOLLYWOOD WEEKLY 27

THE STUNNING

CATHERINE SANSON Empowering Women Still Hiding Behind the “Shame” of Domestic Violence By Jenny Werth

“If I could just touch the life of one person and change how they see themselves, then I’ve done my job. I’m happier now than ever before because this is something I did for myself” -CATHERINE

28 HOLLYWOOD WEEKLY

Catherine Sanson is on a mission. Day-by-day she uses her powerful voice to change “taboos” associated with women suffering silently from domestic violence abuse. Whether the torment is emotional, physical or financial makes no difference. Catherine has experienced and survived them all. And now, she is every woman’s advocate. Make no mistake: she won’t be silenced. She won’t be intimidated. She won’t be bullied. You see, she’s now free from the captivity of an invisible, yet allcontrolling prison that chained her to an abusive marriage for over ten years. These days we find the registered nurse, who is specialized in emergency room and aesthetics medicine helping run an aesthetics medical office. Additionally, she’s running in the upcoming “Mrs. Asia USA Pageant” representing her birth country of the Philippines. In fact, the stunning contestant is finding every platform possible to expose the insidious and often deadly ‘addiction’ to destructive relationships. Plus she’s entertaining every avenue to help other women take back the control of their lives, reclaim their individual worth and emancipate themselves from injustice. She’s most especially empathetic to women who have children and are caught in the back-and-forth mental nightmare that echoes “I know I should leave him, but I have no money...and, what about the children?” There are plenty of programs and supporters out there to take your hand and lead you to the land of exodus. A place where both the victim and their children will feel the rays of light on their skin and smell the scent of victory; touch the fabric of freedom; see the rays of a brilliant sunrise. In totality, live a brand new day. “Women need to stand up and say this (abuse) did happen! Why should we be silenced again and again?” Catherine asks. HOLLYWOOD WEEKLY 29

Indeed, why? Catherine finally gained the strength one day with the support and guidance from the angels who run the “Safe Passage Organization” to take her beautiful son and leave her very toxic situation. Thanks to the organization’s CEO Trish Steele, Linda Dolson and Susie Sengezer, Catherine’s life has changed from darkness to light. The blackness has left her sunny disposition and in its place is a glowing shade of gentle white. It was natural for Catherine to love herself again after taking the steps to regain her self-esteem. She no longer has to pretend that she has “a perfect life,” or create a “perfect image” of herself and her family life. She now OWNS her new “perfect” version of herself, one that doesn’t require “perfection” but rather celebrates that which represents truth. We all have parts of us that are broken. No one exists in a flawless reality. The true champion is one who gains strength from the damaged parts of their life and channels that into a

smooth speedway; one that drives away from the past bumps into the peaceful present with views of a fulfilling future. “Mrs. Asia is a great platform to start telling people that we need to take care of our health, our mind and our body. And along the way I want to use it as a tool to give women the courage to no longer be scared of speaking out about the tragedies that have happened to them; whether it was domestic violence or another form of abuse. I was silenced because I was trying to create the ‘perfect image’ of myself. And it wasn’t perfect. It’s correct to get the word out. This platform allows me the pathway to tell people about what matters. It’s not about ‘oh, I’m beautiful.’” Moreover, Catherine asks an often ‘money-hungry’ society some serious questions: “What do we spend our money on? Our cars, our homes, materialistic items; but what are the two We’re all about careers and making more money, and then the kids grow up and they don’t know their parents really, because they didn’t have a relationship with their child. And our health fails and all the luxuries in the world can’t fix it.” Catherine foresees a future where children aren’t the innocent victims of laws which keep them silent in the slippery court system. young or emotionally disturbed to properly understand what’s happening in an abusive marriage, but there are many children who are perfectly aware of the situation and long to express themselves. “I’m creating a law for safe passage called “Lucas’ Law” to give children the ability to have a voice in the court system. I believe that the child needs to have a voice and not be silenced in the (court) process because they’re human beings too and they have a right to live a life in peace. In fact, she instills in her clients the mantra she lives by: “the only thing in life that can stop you, is yourself.” In between takes I manage to get executive-producer and manager Maria Vascsak to sit down for a few moments to discuss her latest thrilling endeavor: Project Red Card. Maria’s the force behind this project and she’s created something incredible from only the ‘dust’ of an idea. Truth be told, she’s literally taken the agency to a whole new level by creating work opportunities rather than simply waiting for them to appear.

My name is Malin HL Forsman and I’m a writer and actress who had the great fortune of being part of the secretive filming of the sensational trailer “RED CARD” which is really the calling card of Project Red Card. It is a fresh approach to the highly competitive climate of acting and producing. Maria explains that it is a very unusual artistic concept that she hopes will put her agency on the map. There’s no doubt it will do just that. As a manager, I can tell you that Maria is a very productive and determined lady. Her natural sharpness, wit, passion and determination have taken her leaps and strides already. One of her strongest characteristics is being able to see the whole picture where others may not… at least, not just yet.

The Maria Vascsak Agency covers clients who live in Sweden, England and the US. Even though her background is mostly in the business world, she’s always had a creative side as well. In fact, between the ages of 25 and 30 she painted 30 oil paintings. Plus, she’s always loved photography and films. And now after only three years since starting her own management business, her incredible success is already ready to be on display. It’s astonishing that her top achievement to date from Project Red Card, the promotional trailer RED CARD, will already have its world-premiere screening at “The Hollywood Weekly Film Festival” this fall in Los Angeles, California. It all started last year when one of Maria Vascsak’s clients, Nina Larsdotter, a sought after writer, presented her with the idea for

her thriller Red Card (to be released in 2016). Suddenly, Maria was head-over-heels in love with the idea of its content. And soon, it became the cornerstone of this thrilling, complex vision PROJECT RED CARD. Maria wanted to do a “Ben Affleck & Matt Damon” and make her own opportunities for her clients and the agency. The actual project is divided into three major parts: a book marketing tool for Nina Larsdotter’s upcoming book “Red Card,” a new genre, “Sports Crime,” and a Film competition. Submissions for the film competition will be accepted until October 5th, see the rules and goodies on www.projectredcard. com. In fact, the prize will include a spread in “Hollywood Weeky” and a lovely plexiography artpiece called “Mano” made by Martina Swedmark (The money raised will go to Project Playground which is a charity founded by Princess Sofia of Sweden, Duchess of Värmland) donated by XIKO ART gallery. XIKO ART is the fresh approach to art: “art to art” – an authentic plexiography in limited edition. The man in charge is Christian Bergenstråhle who has his showroom in Stockholm, Sweden and the third part of the project is the promotional trailer titled RED CARD, with the story based on the idéa of Nina Larsdotter. Maria explains ”Project Red Card is a PR approach merging different “art” forms in a creative, new, collaborative and nontraditional way to market the agency’s clients as well as finance culture. It is a project built on a strategic social media and web platform in cooperation with “Hollywood Weekly Magazine” and “Hollywood Weekly Film Festival.” A project where ”Red Card” is the common denominator signifying dishonesty, corruption, crime and naturally sprinkled with a touch of love.” Maria is extremely thankful to her whole team, filmmakers, cast and crew. The director, Fredric Keith Reshew, has been extremely valuable and brought more to the process than can ever be explained. He immediately accepted the gig after hearing Maria’s unmatched enthusiasm and dedication to the project. Fredric is an internationally recognized photographer and HOLLYWOOD WEEKLY 33

”TO ACTIVELY WORK WITH AN AGENCY, AND NOT JUST BE IN AN AGENCY IS AN INCREDIBLY EXCITING COLLABORATION. I KNEW FROM THE BEGINNING THAT MARIA HAD A DIFFERENT APPROACH AS A MANAGER, AND THAT WAS WHY I WANTED TO WORK WITH HER BUT I DID NOT EXPECT THIS KIND OF COMMITMENT. SHE HAS TAKEN THE AGENCY TO A WHOLE NEW LEVEL WHERE SHE CREATES WORK OPPORTUNITIES RATHER THAN JUST WAITING FOR THEM TO APPEAR. THIS IS NEW TO ME AND IS SO MUCH MORE CREATIVE AND STIMULATING FOR HER CLIENTS AS IT OPENS UP DOORS FOR EVEN MORE OPPORTUNITIES AND COLLABORATIONS. ALTHOUGH SHE IS A MANAGER, AND NOT A PRODUCER, SHE LEFT NOTHING TO CHANCE BUT ENSURED THE ENTIRE PROJECT HELD A VERY HIGH AND PROFESSIONAL STANDARD” - ACTRESS MOA MALAN

filmmaker. He began his directing career in London with his abstract 3 minute short film “Breathe” and was written up by the prestigious “Campaign Screen Magazine” as the “hot new director to watch.” He later moved to NYC and directed his next award-winning short film ‘OM. Fredric’s latest short film “Rosenberg” debuted in China at the The European Union Film Festival of 2014. Born and raised in Los Angeles, he now spends his time between Stockholm and Los Angeles with his wife and two children. Roy Rossovich our DP/cinematographer is another important facet of this project. Growing up in Southern California Roy spent a fair amount of time on movie sets with his dad, actor Rick Rossovich (“Top Gun,” “Terminator,” “Roxanne”) which inspired him at an early age to want to work in production. He now works as a cinematographer. Indeed, he shot two Indie features in 2013 in addition to a handful of short films. Roy has a foot in both American and Swedish cultures! He travels for work constantly and is happy to call “both sides of the pond” home. On set next to Roy was talented Focus Puller Anders Israels. Then we have Line Producer and Script Writer Dafvid Skoogh. Maria’s right hand man, he has a wide range of knowledge within film creation and has worked in everything from being a gaffer to producer to director to 2D-artist and editor in both short films,

feature films and TV series. Lately, he has been focusing on the storytelling part. On set next to Dafvid, the young Runner Jacob Hammargren was always spotted, eager to learn. Of course, let’s not forget Associate Producer Susanne Elias and PA Anne E Svensson who was always on top of things. Giuseppe Cristiano Story Board Artist also of great importance to the film process. Giuseppe was born in Italy but has lived in Sweden for many years and traveled between Europe and the US. He is a former comic artist, a scriptwriter and has been drawing storyboards for almost two decades. Over the years he has written and published several books and manuals making him the only artist who has written the most books about Storyboard Art worldwide. Maria Vascsak continues to praise her talented clients including actress Moa Malan. Moa has great martial arts and stunt skill abilities, plus she is the only Scandinavian actress to have acted in a role where full contact fighting was demanded. Moa is also the first Scandinavian actress to be nominated in the categories of “Female Action Performer” of the year as well as “Break-Out Action Star.” Most recently, she produced and wrote her own work “Redeem” alongside director Dennis Petersen. Then there’s actor Victor Åkerblom who had his debut on Swedish Television at the age of 16; since then we have seen him on TV, Film and on stage in several productions. In the summer of 2013 he shot the feature film “Huldra,” and the same year had a starring role in “Long Way Home,” which was shot in both Los Angeles and Sweden. Yes, 2014 was another successful year with more than five films!. Soon to come are “Huldra - Lady of the Forest” and “Zone 261.” This summer Viktor has two ongoing film projects and in the fall, he has a key role in an international production. Viktor was cast alongside the internationally established actress Noomi Rapace. Maria Vascsak also continues her praise and gratitude of actor Mikael Spreitz who in 2009 starred alongside Noomi Rapace and Mikael Nyquist in the film adaptation of Stieg Larsson’s “Millennium Trilogy.” Mikael’s role interpretation of Niedermann, the main character and Lisbeth’s half-brother, was

Maria is also very keen to mention the wonderful job of hair stylist Veronic Pettersson. She is only 26 but has already been in the industry for almost ten years – bringing experience from prestigious schools in New York, Paris, London and Copenhagen to the set. Also applauded are head makeup artist Cecilia Lidén and her makeup assistants Mikael Andersson and Marianne Josefsson. Makeup artist Cecilia Lidén, one of the most sought after and booked makeup artists in Sweden, carries a total of eight Swedish Championship 1st place titles and three 2nd place titles as well as two 2nd place titles in the Dusseldorf International Championship in makeup. She has worked with Swedish productions and on major profiles including Lena Ohlin, Bill Gates, designers and designer brands like Odd Molly, J Lindeberg and Anna Bonnevier. Cecilia is also a great stunt woman. You saw her as the stunt woman for all of Noomi Rapace’s stunts in the Millenium Trilogy.

extremely well received. Actor Fredrik Wagner has starred in major feature films and award winning productions and has made some very interesting choices when it comes to character work in his more than 90 productions in film, TV and theatre. Also notable are the young new up-and-coming talents Marcel Khouri and Emma Lindgren who both have studied at the renown Actors Studio in Stockholm, as well as award winning Swedish Actor Börje Lundberg, Charly Nijm, young talents Nathalie Elias Arnborg, Michelle Nijm with twin sister Isabella Nijm. And of course, we can’t forget all our Extras Malin Forsman, Ingel Ekdahl Wikmark, the soccer players of Vasalunds IF and IFK Viksjö.

THE MARIA VASCSAK AGENCY, WANTS TO DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT, TO STAND OUT, TO BE PROACTIVE, TO FIND DIFFERENT ANGLES, TO CREATE A TEAM THAT CAN LIFT EACH OTHER AND BRING OUT THE ABSOLUTE BEST IN EACH OTHER. IT IS ALL ABOUT FINDING A NEW APPROACH FOR ACTORS, DIRECTORS AND WRITERS TO GET OUT THERE IN THE INCREDIBLY COMPETITIVE WORLD OF SHOW BUSINESS AND MAKE THE SEEMINGLY IMPOSSIBLE, POSSIBLE. AND WITH PROJECT RED CARD AND RED CARD IT’S LOOKING LIKE A WIN-WIN!

Wow! The lineup Maria presents is most impressive.. naturally, I had to ask a few burning questions. “So are you done filming after these two days?” I ask. Maria’s face lights up in response and she declares that they have one more night

scene to shoot with the help of Drone Filmer Alexander Paulusson. I ask her what the next step is after that and with a continuous smile Maria explains that the editing work starts and then Music Composer Federico Vaona will score the trailer. Federico has worked on the most popular TV network channels like Antena 3, Telecinco, TVE, Mediaset Group and RAI. Recent work includes him as music consultant at the “57th Annual Young Musicians Foundation” directed by Christopher Allport, featuring John Williams, “The Miracle Of Love Theme” composed for the original script “I Want

You To Be My baby - The Lillian Briggs Story,” written and produced by Lee Schiller - Always Another Way Productions and the music soundtracks of “Guinness World Records” TV Show in Italy. Federico travels the world for work, but now calls Los Angeles home. When this is done it will be screened at the “Hollywood Weekly Film Festival” on November 1. ”I can’t wait for that day,” says Maria. Everyone played their part perfectly in this production. There is a whole lot of talent behind RED CARD.
