THE ONE PLACE

AND COMMUNITY COME TOGETHER

Our mission is to provide services that advance commerce which will establish and maintain Holly as a premier community in which to live, work, and play.

The Holly Area Chamber of Commerce has been encouraging new business, networking and promoting communication among existing businesses, and promoting the growth of our community since 1918.

The Holly Area Chamber of Commerce is a member of the Michigan Chamber of Commerce, Oakland County Chamber Network, Small Business Association of Michigan, and Michigan Festivals and Events. We also network with other Chambers of Commerce in our region.

A decade is a long time!

It has been a decade since the Holly Area Chamber has produced a Membership Directory. We are excited to bring this information about our members and organization to you. We hope you find helpful information about what we do, as well as many outstanding businesses with which to connect.

The Chamber is a local organization of business owners and their employees collectively making the Holly Area a premier place to shop, dine, and live. We represent businesses in Northwest Oakland County and surrounding communities. We also partner with the townships of Holly, Groveland, Rose, Springfield, and the Village of Holly.

Restaurant to hear about local businesses and important matters to the community, and make connections that enhance business opportunities. We host many events in the community. An annual golf outing, Blues, Brews, & BBQ, and Sidewalk Sales are but a few.

We also have a desire to develop the next generation of entrepreneurs and business leaders. Our Annual Golf Outing and event 50/50s make it possible for us to offer scholarships to graduating seniors of Holly High School planning to attend college for a business related field. We also partner with the Business Department of Holly High School for an intern program where students develop business skills while working on projects and events within the chamber.

What’s better than a picnic basket with tasty food, cold drinks and a friend to share it with? How about some good music on a warm summer night! Families came from all over, whether it was pulling a wagon or in their cars. Dads and Moms pushed kids on the swings while the older folks tapped their toes to the beat in their lawn chairs.

Crapo Park in downtown Holly hosted four Concerts in the Park this summer. To kick off the concert series the Holly High School Jazz Band and the Mike Letovsky Freestyle Jazz Quartet provided the entertainment in June. In July the Rock Church Band played, and became the busiest night for attendance! August saw the Holly High School Choir warming up for Trio Bravo. Marla Moore provided pop music in September.

The Chamber’s summer intern, Mercy Wallace, managed the snack shop next to the pavilion in Crapo Park. If you are wondering what to do in your downtown, keep your eye out on the 3rd Thursdays in June, July and August.

Thank you to our sponsors Rush RV, Holly Powersports, Holly Lanes, Staley's Plumbing & Heating, and Tri-County Times for providing a great summer’s eve experience for us all!

We dusted off our golf clubs and hit the course! The Holly Area Chamber of Commerce annual golf outing brings everyone out for a day of fun, networking, and golf! This is just one of the chamber’s fundraising events and the proceeds support the scholarship program for Holly High School students planning to go into business in college. Our participants loved getting out in the sun to enjoy golf and some fun antics on the green! Closest to the pin was Mark

Carney, and longest drive was by Gordie Dryer.First place men’s team was Mark Carney State Farm Insurance. First place mixed team was Stilwell & Wolverton. We did something new this year. We believed the team that came in last needed a little more practice, so we awarded the Holly Moose Lodge team of Justice, Galuska, Jones and Wharton with a free round of golf compliments of Coyote Preserve Golf Course.

The Golf Outing is an annual event in late July. You will want to get in on this in 2023!

2022 SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS

In 2019 the Holly Area Chamber and Groveland Township partnered to start an annual Dixie Byway Car Show. This is a great event to highlight the rich history of the Dixie Byway corridor. The first year was a very successful event with 200 vehicles, as well as sponsors and food vendors. The 2020 event did not take place due to the pandemic, but returned in 2021, adding an eleven-mile Cruise from Waypoint Church exit 93 on I75 up to Mt. Holly.

There are always great

sponsors, vendors, prizes, and trophies. For 2022 we are pleased to have Highway 45 perform classic oldies on the stage. We want to thank Oakland County Parks for making the stage and live band possible.

This has become a signature event as we develop the branding and development of the Dixie Byway from exits 93 to 106. The Holly Area Chamber is pleased to partner with the growing number of businesses on the Dixie Byway.

OPEN TO THE PUBLIC

SATURDAY,

cars cruise the Byway starting at Waypoint Church and driving to Mt. Holly. The public may watch the cars travel north on the Dixie Byway between 9:30 and 10:00 am and then get an up close look at the Mt. Holly parking lot.

The Holly Area Chamber considers our members family. And it is sad to say that our family is feeling the physical and emotional loss of some very dear members. The tragedy of the fire in downtown Holly on June 21st has left all our hearts heavy. Many businesses in the downtown area were not able to open again for quite some time due to electrical issues and loss of inventory. This affects business owners, employees, space vendors, and tenants.

We hold close especially to our heart Pat, Andrea, George and Krissy, the Holly Moose Lodge, and Jerome and Robbin. Battle Alley Arcade, Andy’s Place, the Holly Hotel, the Moose Lodge, and Creative Fashions sustained the most damage. It will take these businesses quite some time to get through whatever the future may hold for them.

The Holly Area Chamber of

Commerce is committed to walking with our members through the good times and their struggles. As during the pandemic, we even help those who are not members during difficult times. In the months to come there will be many opportunities for the community to support and encourage businesses and individuals impacted from the devastation that took place. We continue to join in those opportunities, as well as relaying information about them to you.

It will be well into 2023 before the loved businesses will be open again. We look forward to celebrating with each one when that day comes.

Donations to help the businesses and their employees can be made through the Village of Holly DDA. Holly, and the Holly Area are still thriving. We look forward to the great future that lies ahead of us. As we said in the pandemic, #hollycares, #loveholly, and #hollystrong.
