WEEKLY BULLETIN 2 FEBRUARY 2024

QOTW:

"The person who does not read has no advantage over the one who cannot read"

Message from the Head Dear Parents, I hope you are well and in good spirits. Firstly, I am delighted to welcome you to a Second-hand Uniform Sale next week at 08.15, Thursday 8th February in the School Hall. All articles of clothing are incredibly reasonably priced with a suggested donation of £1 per item. Proceeds go to our school charity for the year, which is Great Ormond Street Hospital. A little word on safety: worryingly, yesterday, we saw two HHS pupils not wearing seatbelts in moving cars. I must stress how important it is for children to wear seatbelts at all times and urge you to ensure this legal requirement is enforced. Next week is Children’s Mental Health week, which we will be celebrating in a number of ways. Following from the success of last year, Mr Longman will again be leading a whole school HIIT Workout on Tuesday morning, so all classes should come in their PE kits, teachers included! Wishing you a lovely weekend, Mrs Brown and the Team

Votes For Schools THIS WEEK'S VOTE TOPIC Does money make up for injustice? (Primary 7-11) Do you know what to do when you are treated unfairly? (Primary 5-7)

11+ Interview preparation starts long before your children get to Y6. Having meaningful discussions with your children is very important. “Votes for Schools” helps your child improve their persuasive arguing skills whilst building their understanding of the complexities of the world around them. Please keep the discussion going at home. Remember, there's no "right" or "wrong" - The children are learning to argue for/against a position. This includes how to respectfully disagree with someone and calmly defend our point of view.
