WEEKLY BULLETIN 03 November 2023

QOTW: Change is made of choices and choices are made of character - Amanda Gorman

Message from the Head Dear Parents, It’s been a rather wet and blustery week but the miserable weather could do nothing to dampen the cheer and enthusiasm of our pupils as they rehearse for Bah-Humbug! our whole School Production. It promises to be a fantastic performance and we look forward to sharing it with you. I will be out of school next week taking our recent winning art entries to the ISA Nationals; fingers crossed for our talented HHS pupils! The ISA have compiled a Virtual Gallery of these works which can be viewed here: https://www.isaschools.org.uk/arts/art/art-competition.html (scroll down the page!) Perhaps our talented Y4s can design a similar gallery of our own with their rapidly flourishing IT skills! In other news, I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Toniloba in Y6 for being the first HHS pupil to attain the 10 Million Words Read milestone! We set the 10 million goal as an ambitious target that pupils could aim for over time... little did we suspect that a pupil would bust through it in a mere 12 months, with a good number of other children hot on her heels! Congratulations to all our readers - what an incredible investment in their future selves! Wishing you all a lovely weekend, All the best, Mrs Brown and HHS Team PS We are raising funds for the Poppy Appeal all week

Votes For Schools Please keep the discussion going at home. Remember, there's no "right" or "wrong" - The children are learning to argue for/against a position. This includes how to respectfully disagree with someone and calmly defend our point of view. Having meaningful discussions with your children is very important. “Votes for Schools” helps your child improve their persuasive arguing skills whilst building their understanding of the complexities of the world around them.

THIS WEEK'S VOTE TOPIC Is it good to change who is in charge? (5-7) Is it time to call a general election? (7-11)

Our HHS Votes For Schools Youth Ambassadors are: Y6 Sam Y5 Sienna B Y4 Caitlin Y3 Hussein
