About The Expat Center
Holland Expat Center South is a nonprofit governmental agency that assists internationals who are living and/ or working in Brabant. Our mission is to promote and support international companies, highly skilled migrants, scientific researchers, orientation year applicants, EU citizens, start up entrepreneurs, their essential workers and EU-Blue card holders by offering fast and easy procedures for formalities, and providing information about the region.
At Holland Expat Center South, internationals can obtain information. The formal procedures regarding settlement in the Netherlands, including the municipal basic administration and residence documents are also possible for certain groups. This applies to internationals living and/or working in one of the participating municipalities.
The Expat Center also provides regional information and organizes events for the international community. These services are available free of charge to every international living in the region.
Holland Expat Center South is a joint initiative of the participating municipalities, the Immigration and Naturalisation Services (IND), and the province of Noord-Brabant.
The Expat Center Procedures
Advantages of the Expat Center Procedures Employers can submit an application to the IND while the highly skilled migrant, scientific researcher or intra corporate transferee is still in his or her home country, and the expat can begin to work almost immediately after their arrival in the Netherlands. In addition, the expat can register and complete their residence permit procedures in a single appointment at HECS.
Requirements
In order to make use of the Expat Center Procedures, expats must have an address in one of the participating municipalities. The housing contract for this address should start, at the latest, on the date of their registration appointment at Holland Expat Center South. Furthermore, the employer must be registered as a recognized sponsor with the IND. Additional information about the recognized sponsorship and required visas can be found on the website of the IND (ind.nl).
Other services for European Union citizens European Union employees who work for a company that is a recognized sponsor registered with the IND are eligible to register at the Expat Center. The employee must have an address in one of the participating municipalities.
BSN
Upon completing municipal registration at the Expat Center, expats residing in Eindhoven will receive their BSN during their appointment. Expats residing in other participating municipalities will be issued their BSN via post.
GRENSINFOPUNT EINDHOVEN
The management and implementation of the program is accomplished as a collaboration between Flanders, the Netherlands and the provinces Antwerp, East-Flanders, Flemish-Brabant, Limburg, and West-Flanders (Flanders) and Limburg, North-Brabant and Zeeland (the Netherlands). The Supervisory Committee decides on the submitted project proposals. This Committee consists of representatives of both the Member States (Flanders and the Netherlands), the eight deputies of the partner provinces and representatives of economic and social partners and civil society. For the implementation of the program, a joint Dutch-Flemish Secretariat was set up in the centrally located city of Antwerp.
The Grensinfopunt in Eindhoven is located at Holland Expat Center South. The Bureau for Belgian Affairs (also part of the Social Insurance Bank) holds consultation hours every Monday and Friday (dates may change) for personal information and tailormade advice.
