Escape to the picturesque capital of Tasmania; home of an old and captivating history, rugged mountains surrounding the entrance of the Derwent river with many gourmet experiences including the colourful Salamanca Market every Saturday. Once you have checked into your accommodation you have the day to explore.
Venture south for an incredible 3 hour wilderness cruise along the spectacular coastline between Port Arthur and Eaglehawk Neck. Cruise beneath the highest vertical sea cliffs in the Southern Hemisphere at Cape Pillar, marvel at the many waterfalls, rock formations, archways, and deep-sea caves. See the abundant variety of wildlife including seals, sea birds and dolphins who like to surf in the bow wave of the boat. Afterwards you will have up to 3 hours to explore and learn about the fascinating convict history of the Port Arthur Historic Site before returning to Hobart.
DAY 3: At Hobart
A day to freely explore this charming region. We suggest heading out to Battery Point with its many historic houses dating back to the first European settlement, hike up to Mt Wellington/Kunanyi and take in the fantastic view of the city and harbour. Or take a ferry over to Hobarts quirkiest and out of this world art museum the Mona Museum.
DAY 4: Depart Hobart
This morning you will be heading home, however if it is a Saturday you must visit Salamanca Market and pick up some amazing local product before making your way to Hobart Airport.
