MT-07LA
The 2023 MT-07LA features a range of upgrades that enhance the package while remaining true to the basic concept that’s loved by so many riders. The most significant upgrades include the new 5-inch full-colour TFT display that provides a choice of two switchable screen themes and smartphone connectivity.
The distinctive bodywork with twin winglet-type air intakes and a compact LED headlight that projects a futuristic Y-shape face presents the signature style for the latest Hyper Naked models. And the refined ‘Learner Approved’ 655cc engine gives you even more linear response with a gutsier exhaust note.
Wider aluminium taper handlebars give easier turning and a more commanding riding position, while large 298mm dual front discs deliver stronger braking – as well as black control levers and compact LED flashers underline the top specification and best-in-class value.
655cc Parallel Twin
Developed using Yamaha’s crossplane technology, this 655cc 2-cylinder CP2 engine gives the MT-07 a more engaging linear response and character with easy-to-use performance and improved engine sound.
LED Projector Lighting
Modern, compact and lightweight, the bifunctional LED headlight features a centrally-located high/low projector lamp. This compact projector headlight produces a powerful beam with well-defined edges that provide excellent visibility. Left and right side dual-layer LED position lights give the MT-07 a signature Y-shape face that reaffirms its close family ties with the MT-09.
Larger Front Brakes
MT-07’s large 298mm front dual disc gives more stopping power and greater controllability with no gain in weight. Together with the 245mm rear disc, the system offers increased performance and is especially apparent in wet conditions.
TFT and Smartphone Connectivity
The MT-07’s new 5-inch TFT instruments can be set to Street Theme or Touring Theme to suit your individual requirements. With the smartphone connectivity via the free MyRide app, you can view incoming call and message notifications on the TFT meter, as well as monitor all key parameters of the bike on the app.
Next Generation Design
Winglets on the sides of the 14-litre fuel tank give the bike a more dynamic stance. The fuel tank covers are manufactured from injection-moulded plastic resin to reduce weight, and a 3D moulded texture is featured around the rider’s knee grip area to give improved controllability for a sportier character.
LED Indicators
Along with a LED headlight the MT-07 is also equipped with high intensity indicators at the front and rear. Lighter and more compact, they complement the next generation style of the bike and reinforce the premium specification of this best-selling Hyper Naked.
Latest Generation Tyres
Michelin PR5 tyres – 180/55-17 at the rear and 120/70-17 at the front – provide excellent levels of traction, sporty handling performance and excellent wet weather handling qualities, making the MT-07 the ideal choice for new and experienced riders.
YZF-R7LA
Built from the ground up with a sleek ultra-thin lightweight chassis powered by Yamaha’s proven CP2 engine, and enhanced with track-focused supersport features, the learner approved YZF-R7 embodies Yamaha’s rich history of aggressive performance and racing dominance.
The YZF-R7 delivers proven power, a narrow chassis, and styling that reflects the exhilarating next-generation of R World. It is packed with a range of features that include an engaging 655cc CP2 engine tuned to maximise Australia’s LAMs limit, a slim and lightweight frame with excellent aerodynamics, an inverted front fork with supreme front-end feel, and a racing-inspired cockpit with a supersport rider position.
Proven CP2 Engine
YZF-R7 uses Yamaha’s proven liquid-cooled, four-stroke, in-line two-cylinder, DOHC CP2 engine, giving the rider a feeling of a direct connection from the throttle to the rear wheel. Forged aluminium pistons with direct-plated cylinders integrated with the crankcase makes for lighter weight and excellent strength at higher temperatures, ensuring reliability at higher rpm.
The crossplane engine’s 270-degree crank provides an uneven firing sequence with a more characterful exhaust note that emphasises torquey acceleration and linear power delivery for outstanding response at all engine speeds. Additionally, the R7 has an optimised secondary gear ratio that creates an exhilarating ride and a sporty feel.
Potent Braking Power
This new Brembo radial master cylinder provides a more linear supply of hydraulic pressure to the radial mounted, four pot front brake calipers creating excellent controllability and stopping power through dual 298mm front brake rotors.
KYB Sports Suspension
The YZF-R7 features an inverted KYB 41mm front fork with optimised spring rate and damping settings for an excellent front-end feel during cornering and braking. The fork is fully adjustable for preload, rebound and compression damping force. A linked-type Monocross shock with adjustable spring preload and rebound damping strikes a balance between ride comfort and sporty performance for capability across a wide range of uses, from urban commuting to track days.
Ultra-Narrow Lightweight Chassis
The YZF-R7’s ultra-narrow, high-strength steel frame provides excellent rigidity for a sporty and responsive ride by mounting aluminium centre braces near the swingarm pivot which improve torsional rigidity. Rake, trail, and wheelbase dimensions have also been optimised for superb handling while cornering on a racetrack or a twisty road.
Racing Inspired Cockpit
The YZF-R7’s new racing-inspired cockpit puts the rider in a comfortable and confidence-inspiring position that evokes an eagerness to ride. A comfortable new seat with material and cushioning used in the YZF-R1, combined with new low-profile fuel tank covers with deep knee pockets for optimal hip and knee positioning gives the rider freedom to move while also providing a firmly planted feel when leaned over.
XSR700
Retro – meet modern. XSR700 matches future tech with retro style for an entertaining ride with attitude to burn. With deep torque and a super agile chassis, it’s for those who appreciate heritage without the hassle.
The cutting edge 655cc inline twin engine features our crossplane philosophy that delivers linear torque for outstanding acceleration. The retro styled XSR700 also benefits from a tight and lightweight chassis for agility and sharp handling.
This 655cc model is unique to Australia with power delivery specially maximised for our LAMs market.
The 270-degree crank gives a strong feeling of acceleration and great traction, and the deep linear torque ensures outstanding performance. Wave disc brakes with ABS as standard and a lightweight digital LCD dash are fully modern but styling is pure retro.
Outstanding 2-Cylinder Engine
What gives the new XSR700 such a special character is its 655cc inline 2-cylinder engine, developed using Yamaha’s ‘crossplane philosophy’. With an uneven firing interval, the 270-degree crank gives a strong feeling of acceleration and great traction, and the deep linear torque ensures outstanding performance.
Retro Coolness
The XSR700 delivers a genuine retro coolness with hints of vintage styling without compromising on riding control.
Chassis dimensions and weight distribution have been carefully set to maximise the enjoyment felt during acceleration and give the rider a connected feel with the motorcycle.
LED Lighting
The XSR700 is fitted with a heritage inspired round LED headlight with a split projector and a semi-circular position lamp.
The LED tail light features a classically shaped round form, and the compact LED indicators are more subtly shaped, whilst providing outstanding visibility.
Slim Backbone
For easy maneuverability and sharp agility, the new XSR700 runs with a light, slim steel and easy customisable backbone-type frame under the retro body that utilises the 655cc engine as a stressed member. Combined with its compact wheelbase and plush suspension systems, this strong and light chassis gives a responsive and engaging ride.
Link-Type Monocross
The link-type Monocross rear suspension system features a horizontal shock that is mounted directly to the engine’s crankcase to save space and enhance chassis performance.
And for a more enjoyable feeling when accelerating, the XSR700 is fitted with a short 530mm swing arm that enhances the connected feeling between the rider and bike.
Iconic Styling
The colour schemes were influenced from iconic motorcycles of Yamaha’s rich history. The famous 2-stroke RD350LC from the early eighties provided the inspiration for the modern interpretation of the colour schemes, resulting in the a crisp Heritage White and a more elegant Heritage Black combination.
