THE HOUSE OF THE LORD CHURCH

We’re excited to welcome you to the first edition of our bi-monthly newsletter, “In The House.” Here you’ll find news you can use: updates from our churches, spotlights on our members, announcements of coming events, testimonies, praise reports, and recaps of exciting happenings in our midst. All that and inspiration, information, and education! It’s so good!
As we look toward our 93rd Holy Convocation, our theme is Focused on the Future, with Philippians 1:6 as our foundational Text: I am confident of this, that the one who began a good work in you will continue to complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.
Our future as a people, as a community, and as a Church is assured because God began a great work in us and has promised to continue this work until the Second Coming of Christ. How do we prepare for this great future? How can we make ourselves ready? How can we be the best stewards of the gifts that God has given us, knowing that these gifts are meant to equip us, prepare us, and sustain us for the future that God has prepared?
We’re getting ready for our future. And that starts now! Let’s get focused together! See you at the Convocation!
P.S.: If you have items or articles of the newsletter, or if you’d like to join the newsletter team, please send a note to HQ@HOLC.org.

“My film is called Stamped from the Beginning. It's based on Dr. Ibram X. Kendi’s book of the same name. It is an innovative documentary - mixing VFX actors scenes, archival, and interviews with leading Black scholars and activists.” It is premiering on Netflix on November 15th and had its world premiere screening at the Toronto International Film Festival”.

Twenty-three people, under the guidance of our beloved Bishop Leah D. Daughtry, ventured on a journey of a lifetime. They departed from various locations in the US and traveled to Israel May 15th-May 24th, 2023, with an extension to Egypt May 24th - May 29th, 2023.
Together as a united body of believers, they embraced this sacred pilgrimage, trusting that God would guide and bless them abundantly. And as a body of believers, they declared #StillYes!
“I feel a special anointing in this water. As Jesus was here, He is here, because He’s a God of Eternity”.
“As I sit here, I am a bit overwhelmed with emotion as I think about and reflect on the experience of not only being baptized in the river Jordan, but also having the honor of participating in the baptism of so many of my brothers and sisters in Christ within the House of the Lord Church”.
“Being led by Bishop Leah Daughtry and being able to participate in baptizing others was a wonderful experience. One that I will never ever forget!”
Let us remain open to the divine whispers, ready to be moved, touched, and transformed by God's grace. May our journey ignite a renewed passion for faith, deepen our relationships with God and one another, and inspire us to live out the Beatitudes in our daily lives.
During the 2023 Essence Musical Fest, Oprah Winfrey revealed the trailer “The Color Purple”, a new musical film. Bishop Leah D. Daughtry attended the luncheon, where she offered closing remarks and prayer and fellowshipped with Oprah Winfrey, the cast, and leaders from across the country. The film will debut on Christmas Day 2023.
Thursday, September 14th through Sunday, September 17th, 2023, Oberlin hosted Bishop Leah D. Daughtry.
