Senator Ismail motions to add a question, “Would you be interested in having a smoothie bar in the fitness center?” with answer choices a) yes and b) no 1. Motion is seconded 2. Motion is objected to a. Senator Ismail speaks for i. I think it is important to have a smoothie bar at the gym as many gyms have these facilities. It is very important to get the data to show that there are people interested in it and therefore to gain support from the university d. Senator Bielunas speaks against i. I feel like we’re getting into too many questions and too wordy where people will stop taking the survey in general. Still concerned about amount of time Yields time to Chairwoman Casey 1. Pursue more information of what possible food options there are to even put in vending machines before we include the questions c. Chairman Durand speaks for i. Thinks it is important to gather data for this initiative. They have already thrown out certain healthy choices such as veggie straws and others. They are just looking for if it would be utilized by students ii. Yields time to Senator Bekios 1. Since our dining contract is almost up, this may start getting people thinking about what they want from dining facilities d. Chairman Kutsch speaks against i. Would rather see the question be more specific, such as including specific alternatives ii. Yields time to Senator Mustazza 1. Maybe start by asking how often students even utilize vending machines in the first place 2. Yields time to Senator Martin a. Compass does not have control over the vending machines as is 3.
