DAY 2: ADDRESSING AND ADAPTING TO CLIMATE CHANGE STUART AND NANCY RABINOWITZ HONORS COLLEGE presents
SESSION 4: PROJECT-BASED LEARNING IN THE 21ST CENTURY: CLIMATE CHANGE CHALLENGES Project-based learning (PBL) invites students to address large social problems (e.g., climate change) via open-ended, entrepreneurial, team-based projects. In this workshop, the panel will discuss why PBL is emerging as an important pedagogical strategy on campuses across the U.S. and how we can put it to use in our classrooms. This workshop will begin with a presentation by Dr. Kristin Wobbe, the director of the Center for Project-Based Learning at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. Her presentation will be followed by tabletop conversations where faculty and others discuss PBL techniques for teaching about climate change and other subjects. Panelists will include the faculty scheduled to teach Climate Change Challenges: • Dr. Jase E. Bernhardt, Assistant Professor and Director of Sustainability Studies • Dr. Robert P.
