Body-Mind Connection Workshop
Join us to learn more about self-care and maintaining wellness of both the body and the mind in this series of three workshop meetings. Discussion includes topics such as sleep hygiene, healthy eating and regular exercise, and their impact on both physical and emotional well-being. Monday, November 7, 14 and 21, at 6 p.m. Location: Room 245 Mack Student Center, North Campus
Social Anxiety Group
This supportive group focuses on helping students understand and develop skills and strategies to reduce their anxiety in social situations. Monday at 7 p.m.
Emotion Management Group
This supportive group is intended for students who want to learn skills to manage intense feelings and cope more effectively with emotional distress. Tuesday at 4 p.m.
Recovery Group
Learn techniques to build and maintain motivation; cope with urges; manage thoughts, feelings and behaviors; and live a balanced life through recovery from substance use. This group provides support to individuals in recovery from addictions. Tuesday at 7 p.m.
Mindfulness Meditation
This group focuses on building connectivity of mind, body and emotion through meditation. Students learn ways to relax and manage stress, anxiety and other emotions by staying in the present moment. Tuesday at 8 p.m.
Social Network Live
Join fellow students for this social development training group to learn better ways to begin, engage in, and maintain social connections and relationships. Wednesday at 5 p.m. Location: Student Access Services, Room 107 Mack Student Center, North Campus
Women of Excellence
This self-development group is intended to provide support, empowerment and psychoeducation to those who identify as women of color (including but not limited to African-American/Black, Latina/Hispanic, Asian-American, Pacific Islander, Native American, Middle Eastern, Arab-American). This therapeutic group allows for the open expression of thoughts, feelings, coping strategies, strengths and resources. Thursday at 6 p.m.
Healthy Relationships
Join students in this supportive group in order to learn new ways of developing and maintaining healthy relationships. The focus of the group includes learning the signs of healthy and unhealthy relationships, assertive communication and conflict resolution skills, and how to set appropriate boundaries with others. Thursday at 7 p.m.
Coping Essentials Group
Improve your ability to cope with life stressors and increase resilience through this supportive group. Students learn practical and effective skills to manage thoughts, feelings and behaviors and enhance daily living. Friday at 3 p.m.
Unless otherwise noted, all groups meet at the Joan and Arnold Saltzman Community Services Center on South Campus (across the street from the Netherlands Complex).
