HOFSTRA CULTURAL CENTER presents a symposium
Poetry and Visual Arts: Homage to Jorge E. Eielson In honor of the great Peruvian poet and artist Jorge Eduardo Eielson (1924-2006), the day’s events will feature comments, readings, and visuals by prominent writers and scholars from Italy (where the poet lived for many years), Peru and the United States. Eielson was known for his iconoclastic poetry and his quipus – “talking knots” – today considered precursors of conceptual art.
