ENJOY PHILIPSBURG, THE CHARMING CAPITAL OF DUTCH ST. MAARTEN Before St. Maarten became a must-see destination for cruisers, the island was most popular for its must-have ingredient. Salt! Back in the 17th century, Dutch settlers started harvesting salt from Great Salt Pond and sending shiploads back to Europe. Today, the island is split in half between France and the Netherlands Antilles. Other than the island's name (spelled Saint-Martin on the French half), both sides are quite unique. As we arrive in Philipsburg, the capital of St. Maarten, you'll immediately notice the Dutch influences.

Tonight's Dinner Dress Suggestion Casual Guests with Special Needs We encourage all our guests to please be more considerate towards our guests with special needs, in particular entering and exiting elevators and gangways. Thank you! Smoking Policy For the comfort and enjoyment of our guests, our ships are designated as non-smoking; however, we recognize that some of our guests do smoke. Therefore, to provide an onboard environment that also satisfies smokers, we have designated certain areas of the ship as smoking areas. Connoisseur Club and Casino Royale allows smoking. Casino Royale allows smoking and has a designated area for non smoking guests. There will be visible signage indicating the non-smoking area in the casino. Onboard all interior public spaces are smoke free. Smoking is not permitted in any dining venue, theater, pool, bar, lounge, hallway, and elevator. Smoking is not permitted inside any stateroom and any stateroom balcony. This applies to all stateroom categories onboard. If a guest is in violation of this stateroom policy, a cleaning fee of $250 USD will be applied to their SeaPass' account and may be subject to further action pursuant to the "Consequences Section" of the Guest Conduct Policy. Safety Warning Serious accidents and fatalities have occurred when guests have rented or taken independent tours involving mopeds, scooters, wave runners (jets skis). Royal Caribbean strongly recommends that guests do not participate in such activities. Checking your SeaPass Account just got easier and can be viewed on your stateroom TV at anytime! Avoid lining up at the Guest Services Desk to pay your onboard account. If you have not yet registered your credit card you can do so today. Your final statement will be printed and delivered to your stateroom at 6:00 am on the final morning of your vacation. Any charges made after this time will be automatically charged to your account. SeaPass Card and Proof of Citizenship Don't forget to bring your SeaPass card and photo identification (either a passport or driver's license) today when you leave the ship. A security checkpoint will be set up at the gangway for your safety.
