I-105 Integrated Corridor Management Project
The I-105 and I-405 corridors are vital transportation arteries that link California communities, the Inglewood Entertainment District and the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). Serving both passenger and goods movement vehicles, the corridors are essential components of the regional, statewide and national transportation system.
In an effort to minimize congestion and ease travel along the I-105 corridor from Sepulveda Boulevard to I-110, LA Metro’s I-105 Integrated Corridor Management (ICM) project implements ITS strategies to manage the capacity of a corridor using new and existing technologies to lessen the impact of traffic incidents.
Through HNTB’s application of sound systems engineering to deliver the concept of operations, the project will deliver near-term benefits of improved mobility, safety and air quality to the communities within the I-105 corridor. By using integrated technologies and proactive response strategies, the I-105 ICM project will better manage congestion during incidents and emergencies, providing seamless and more efficient transportation.
