LGA NEWS

Spring has arrived in BridgeMill and ladies golf is active with playdates and tournaments. Our first tournament of the season was March 26 when 24 ladies headed out on a very rainy Sunday, but had a great day which ended with sunny skies and a warm breeze. 1st place gross overall winners were Vanessa Mullen, Karyn Haydock, Susan Moffa and Terry Olsen. 1st place net overall winners were Cleo Hutchins, Liz Gallogly, Donna hanson and Margie Howell. 2nd place net overall winners were Jill Lain, Therese Powers, Jenn Manning and Margaret Kisker. Proximity winners were Karyn Haydock, Margie Howell and Jill Lain. Thanks to Chef Faye for a great sandwich and salad lunch following play.

Our LGA is a group of ladies that enjoy golf, friendships and fun. Golfers of all levels are welcome. We enjoy having a good time but we do play by USGA rules and pace of play is very important. Contact Karyn at 845.283.2964 to join BridgeMill Ladies Golf.

Susan Moffa

Hi! My name is Susan Moffa. I just started playing golf 2 years ago and have really enjoyed BMLGA and going on golf vacations with my husband Chris.

My goal for this year is to get through the season not needing any orthopedic surgeries and to see some improvements without having to backtrack. My proudest moment in golf so far was playing with my husband on the “Blue Monster”course at the Doral Trump National in Miami. The most challenging hole at BMAC (for me) is hole 3 because the women’s tee box is only 2 yards in front of the men’s last tee box.

Liz Gallogly

Hello, my name is Liz Gallogly. My husband and I moved here 11 years ago when he retired from the RI National Guard. Larry and I have 4 grown children and 4 beautiful grandchildren.

I have two golf goals for this year… the simple goal is to learn how to drive using my driver! The second goal would be to break 90. I am not sure if this is a dream or a goal! I started playing golf because my husband enjoyed it so much, but also to spend time with a friend that had lost her husband unexpectedly. Larry enrolled us each in golf lessons and we still enjoy playing together. Being outside and doing something I love with my friends and family is a blessing!

Sharon Bowers

My name is Patti Zoeller. My family and I moved to BridgeMill from Ohio 2 years ago. This is my 3rd year with the BM LGA.

My golf goal this year is to slow down my game. I tend to rush. Penalty shots add up quickly as well as 3 putts. I use all different golf balls and I mark them with a large Z. Other than golf, I enjoy water aerobics, pickleball and LaBlast dance fitness.

Kelly Cook

Hi everyone, my name is Kelly Cook. My Husband Hank, of 40 years, and I are retired from our home construction business and have been golf members at BM for 24 years. We have 2 amazing daughters and sons in law as well as 4 wonderful grandchildren!

We have played courses from Hawaii to Ireland. Our favorite course, besides BM, is Brookstone. Playing amongst the volcanos at St Andrews was pretty spectacular! I am hoping that my favorite club, the 5 wood, will help me reach my lifetime goal of having a lowest handicap than my husband. He better watch out!

My name is Sharon Bowers. My husband, Keith, and I are 23 year residents of BM. We are empty nesters of five children and proud grandparents of two grandsons. I have worked as a realtor for 22 years. Golf is a new hobby for me and as a newbie to the game, I am quite excited about the challenge of learning something new. My goal is to break “legitimate 102” this year with no help from “gimmies” or “toe wedges”. I enjoy reading, cooking and traveling. My favorite golf shoes are lightweight Nike mesh shows. As a new golfer, I do not have a favorite professional that I follow but I will start following the LPGA.
