Welcome to the 115th Dunfermline Children’s Gala! We are extremely proud to continue this wonderful tradition. You will find some useful information in this brochure as well as some amazing quotes and drawings by the children.

This year we received over 400 entries for our brochure cover competition and it was extremely difficult for our judges to choose a winner. Huge congratulations to our winner – Owen Walls (P6) from Masterton Primary School - don’t forget to give him a wave at the start of the parade!

This year to celebrate its 250th anniversary, the theme for this year’s Gala is Circus! We have lined up an amazing array of stilt walkers, jugglers, acrobats and other amazing circus-themed entertainers for the parade. Although we are confident that the most spectacular people in the parade will be the children!

We are extremely grateful for the support from Fife Council, TechnipFMC, Signplus, 1st for Balloons and Printing Services (Scotland) Ltd and also all of the organisations, groups and individuals listed on our thank you page. We would also like to thank the parents, friends, families and the people of Dunfermline who have donated money, sponsored a child at our Wheels in the Park event or along to our annual Concert to help raise much needed funds.

Around half of the £40,000 required each year for the gala is made up of fundraising, so without your support, we couldn’t continue!!

We would like to thank our patron, Lady Elgin, for her continued support. She has attended the gala each year and is always impressed by the parade, entertainment and the children.

Gala Day is one of the highlights of her year!

We would not be able to continue without the hundreds of volunteers who help every year and in particular the school gala reps who attend meetings, help with fundraisers and coordinate their schools participation in the Gala. I would like to personally thank you all and express my appreciation for everything you do.

Finally I would like to thank the Executive Committee, who give their time so willingly to help organise fundraising events and Gala Day. Organising the Gala and raising the funds each year is a huge endeavour and without this amazing group of people it couldn’t take place.
