BIOGRAPHY OF THE LATE SGT ANGELA AMA SARFO MIREKU-NTIM
And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth; Yea, saith the spirit, that they shall rest from their labours and their works do follow them. Rev 14:13;
Family Background
In loving memory of Angela Ama Sarfo, also known as Ama Pokua, whose life was a testament to faith, love, and selflessness. Born on the 27th of October 1990, in the serene town of Tapa-Amanya, in the Biakoye District of the Oti Region, Ghana, Angela’s journey touched the hearts of many. Angela hailed from the Bretuo clan, born to her beloved parents, Mac-Hayes Opoku and Cecilia Abra Sarfo, both of whom have passed away. As the second daughter in her family, Angela grew up surrounded by love and support.
Educational Pursuits
From an early age, Angela showed a thirst for knowledge. She began her educational pursuits at Tapa-Amanya L/A Basic School, where she attended classes up to grade three. However, a significant change in her life occurred when her late grandmother, Felicia Badasu, and her husband, Mr. Alexander Badasu, made the courageous decision to relocate Angela to Kpando, where she continued her education. Despite the educational gap, Angela’s determination led her to join class two. With unwavering dedication, she completed primary school and proceeded to Immaculate Conception Junior High School in Kpando, where she excelled and earned exceptional results in the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
In pursuit of her dreams, Angela gained admission to Anfoega Senior High
School in September 2006, specializing in Home Economics. She embraced her studies wholeheartedly and emerged as a shining star. After six years of service in the Ghana Armed Forces, Angela’s thirst for knowledge remained unquenched. She enrolled in the Ghana Institute of Management and Professional Administration (GIMPA) to pursue a Certificate and Diploma in the Chartered Institute of Transport and Logistics. Even at the time of her untimely demise, she was in the process of acquiring her degree in the same program, a testament to her unwavering commitment to personal growth.
Religious Life
Angela’s faith played an integral role in her life, having been born into a Christian home. Her father served as a pastor, and her mother as a deaconess, both devoted members of the Assemblies of God Church. Guided by their teachings, Angela accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior, and her life exemplified the values she held dear. Her unwavering commitment and dedication to her Christian faith were evident in every aspect of her life. Angela’s generosity knew no bounds, as she continually sought ways to bring joy and relief to those in need. She found great joy in participating in church activities and major events, cherishing moments like Youth Camp, Easter Convention, and Retreats. Her service to her Maker was marked by unwavering dedication and love.
Military Career
After graduating from Anfoega Senior High School in 2009, Angela embarked on a teaching career, sharing her knowledge and passion with young minds at Delta Preparatory and Donum Preparatory Schools in Kpando. In 2010, with the assistance of her uncle, Colonel Badasu, Angela seized an opportunity to join the Ghana Armed Forces. She successfully completed her training at Shai Hills Recruits Training School on 15 December 2011, marking the beginning of a remarkable journey. Angela was initially posted to the Signal Regiment in Burma Camp and later to the Army Headquarter, in Burma Camp where she worked as a Stores Clerk. Throughout her career, Angela undertook peacekeeping missions in countries such as Congo, Lebanon, and Sudan, leaving a lasting impact on the lives of many.
Marital Life
After a decade of serving as a soldier, she encountered a young man named Mr. Emmanuel Ntim-Mireku in Accra. They fell deeply in love and celebrated their marriage on 27 December 2021. The couple had hoped to build a fulfilling life together, cherishing their union for years to come. Sadly, their dreams were shattered before they reached their second anniversary.
On 31 October 2022, she gave birth to their first child, but soon after, her health took a turn for the worse. Urgently, she was admitted to the 37 Military Hospital in Accra for medical care on 06 November 2023. Initially, she spent several months in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and was later transferred to the Opoku ward for further treatment.
Despite the dedicated efforts of the medical team both inside and outside the hospital, her condition never improved. After seven months of battling her illness, she passed away on Friday, May 26, 2023, at the age of 32. Her untimely departure left behind a grieving husband and an eight-month-old baby.
May her gentle soul find eternal rest, and may we reunite with her someday in perfect peace.

ANGELA AMA SARFO
HUSBAND TRIBUTE FROM TO ANGELA AMA SARFO MIREKU-NTIM (AKA MRS. AMA WOODS)
AMA my beloved wife and I had a perfect and exciting life together.
Ama, we had lots of great plans which we believed we could fulfill together but your death has unfortunately shuttered them all. My most fervent and earnest prayer was for our GOD to heal you, for you to come back home and take care of our son (Baby Kojo) and Harriett. To also see the events that has unfolded whilst you were away fighting for your life, but that didn’t happen and GOD knows best.
Ama loved everyone, whether young or old, with unimaginable loads of love. But that nonetheless, she could tell with one simple look, the people who were her enemies!! Yes, her enemies!!! She knew them all but she kept loving and embracing them. Ama loved the good people in her life, sometimes even to a fault. Her immediate and welcoming smile to the people she gets to meet, is one that cannot go unnoticed. I remember in 2018 when we first met, it was her smiles that made a heavy impression on me and had me wanting to get more closer and attached to her.
My Wife was a very good Christian. She never stopped worshipping and praying to God. Her love for the things of God was the principal thing that attracted me and made me love her more and more. Angela was a good listener and a perfect adviser. She knew how to calm situations down. Today is not a good day to tell our love story to the dearly beloved gathered here, but our posterity will hear all about it.
I will sorely miss you my BABE!!!!! I want to thank you and say that God bless you greatly for your mirror image that you left behind. When I look at him, then all my pains are gone,
knowing very well that your image and love still lives with me. I will make sure that every bit of love I had for you will be channeled to our son (Baby Kojo).
I KNOW YOU ARE IN BETTER PLACE RIGHT NOW.
REST WELL MY BABE TILL WE MEET AGAIN!!!!
GOD BLESS YOU!!!
AMEN!!!!
EEEEIIIIIII!!!!!!
I HAVE LOST MY FRIEND!!!
I HAVE LOST MY SISTER!!!!
I HAVE LOST MY ENGLISH MADAM!!!!!…….. Hmmmmmmm!!!!!!!!

FAMILY THE WIAFE FAMILY TRIBUTE FROM TRIBUTE FROM IN MEMORY OF THE LATE SGT ANGELA AMA SARFO MIREKU-NTIM,
October 27, 1990 – 26 May 2023
I said in my heart, God shall judge the righteous and the wicked for there is a time there for every purpose and for every work. What shall we say then? He gives and takes. Eccl 3:17
The late Angela Ama Sarfo affectionately called Ama Pokua, was born on the 27th of October 1990.
In the depths of our hearts, we carry a profound sense of loss and grief as we bid farewell to our beloved Angela Ama Sarfo, affectionately known as Ama Pokua. Her journey through life, although far too short, was one that radiated with immense promise and extraordinary qualities. Today, we gather not only to mourn her untimely departure but also to celebrate the remarkable person she was and the indelible mark she left on our lives.
From the very beginning, it was evident that Angela possessed a special light. Even in her childhood years, she exuded a brilliance that captivated those around her. Her unwavering commitment to both her studies and her character earned her accolades and commendations from every school she attended. Angela’s passion for learning and her unwavering determination propelled her towards greatness.
As Angela expressed her desire to join the military, our family was filled with immense pride and unwavering support. We knew that she possessed the qualities needed to excel in such a challenging and honourable profession. Angela embarked on her journey with the full knowledge that she had the love and encouragement of her family behind her every step of the way.
Throughout her life, Angela was not only a soldier but also a social media enthusiast. Her vibrant presence online connected her to a wide range of individuals, and it is no wonder that the news of her passing spread like wildfire. Angela possessed a rare ability to forge deep and meaningful connections with people from all walks of life. She approached every interaction with genuine warmth, kindness, and an open heart, leaving a lasting impression on everyone she encountered. The family firmly believed that Angela’s star
would continue to rise, even at the young age of thirty-three, as she held the rank of Sergeant. Her unwavering dedication and unparalleled work ethic were evident to all who knew her, and it was only a matter of time before she achieved greater heights in her military career. It is with heavy hearts that we now mourn the untimely end of her journey, her potential cut short in its prime.
Oh, death! Why have you so abruptly replaced our smiles with tears? Why have you snatched a loving mother from her eight-month-old baby? The pain we feel is immeasurable, and our hearts bear the weight of a void that can never be filled. We search for solace and understanding, but the answers elude us. Oh, God! Where can we find a replacement for the irreplaceable?
In this time of profound sorrow, we take solace in knowing that Angela now rests peacefully in the loving embrace of her Maker. May her soul find eternal tranquillity and serenity, far removed from the worries and trials of this earthly existence. As we bid our final farewell, we carry the precious memories of Angela in our hearts, cherishing the moments we shared, and drawing strength from the love she bestowed upon us.
Angela Ama Sarfo, your light may have been extinguished far too soon, but the impact you made on this world will continue to shine brightly in our lives. You were a source of inspiration, love, and unwavering strength, and we are forever grateful to have had you in our lives.
Rest well, dear Angela, in the loving bosom of your Maker. May God’s comforting presence be with you until we meet again. As we mourn your loss, we find solace in the knowledge that your spirit lives on, forever guiding and watching over us.
Rest in peace, dear Angela. Damirifa due! Due ne amanehunu!
TO THE LATE SGT ANGELA AMA SARFO MIREKU-NTIM
As I stand and look at your mortal remains to perform my final official duty for you, I am overcome with a lot of grief and pain when I look at where we started and where we are now. The journey with you was EXTREMELY SHORT!!!
My relationship with you, which was a mix of a junior wife and a daughter, was one of a short lived period and great moments of joy and happiness. The connection we had from the day my kid brother (your husband) introduced you to me as the woman he wanted to marry and my instant approval of you, was the start of our short lived relationship.
You quickly became the favorite Auntie to my Children. They all looked forward to spending good time with you on their planned visit to Ghana this summer. Standing over your mortal remains and grieving over you was definitely not part of the script and not the kind of summer holidays they planned to spend with you. Eileen Wiafe is full of memories of the very fun time she had with you during the weekend holiday that we had at Aqua Safari. That was so much fun. The brightness of your smiles and your joyous laughter are memories that will stay with us forever.
Diana Wiafe loved you as her favorite “rival” and a mentee. There was so much that she had wanted to do with you and for you, but your shocking and early demise has robbed her of that opportunity. Her often check ups on you,
her long and repeated questioning about things that you need to do and as to whether you have done them, are the sad memories that you have left her with.
We are all sad and broken for your passing away! We will cry out our hearts for you. We will mourn you as long as we can. We will not be comforted until the time is right to do so. This is our moment of grief and pain and we will not prevent ourselves from expressing them.
When you left this earth, a part of you stayed with us (Your Son). We will cherish and care for him as long as God gives us the grace and strength to do so. We will let him know at the right time, what a sweet and wonderful woman you were to us all. We thank you for giving us a son. We may have been robbed of the opportunity to celebrate with you for the gift of God. But we will not miss out in saying so and appreciating you in these moments of grief and pain.
We believe that you are in a good place right now. Our faith in God Almighty gives us hope that we will see you again one day. We believe that you are up above and looking down upon us as we grieve over your mortal remains.
REST WELL “MY SOLDIER GIRL”!!! REST WELL MY LITTLE WIFE!!! REST WELL MY DAUGHTER!!!

Sister Angela, you were my mum, dad, sister, brother, aunty, uncle, friend and my world. You were my moon, star, sun and my light. You taught me how to pray, how to say thank you, please and sorry. You always wanted the best version of me so you kept on telling me to study hard for a better future but there’s no one to encourage me. You held my hand to walk as I grew up. You took me in and catered for me when my mother died and I had no one. You love me as your own daughter. You kept on telling me that you wouldn’t be there for me always and I now understand perfectly what you meant.
When I heard you have given birth, I was so excited and couldn’t wait to vacate from school to see you and my baby brother. I came home and met my brother but you were no where to be found.
I never expected or ever thought about this time in my life that you would leave me lonely in this world. I wish I can question God but I can’t because He knows best. I always wished and prayed for long life and good health for you but my wish did not come through. Why did you go so soon?
May the Good Lord keep your soul at a good place because you were kind, polite, beautiful, God fearing and loving mom to me. I will miss your smile and everything about you. It hurts that I wouldn’t see you again for the rest of my life. I promise to take care of my brother. We would forever love you because you will forever be in our hearts. I know my two moms will be watching over us from above and I take consolation in that.
REST IN PEACE OUR WORLD!
The loss of a good friend, they say, is like losing a part of yourself. You never forget them, no matter where life takes you.
On this day exactly 12 years ago, in 2011, we started our military career as CSE 2/2011.
We were privileged to have someone like Angela, popularly referred to as “K leg by both instructors and students. When you call her, she will look at you and smile.
Some of us were fortunate to be in Bravo Coy with her. The ever-smiling Sarfo smiles even when we are being punished.
Ange, as she’s affectionately called, doesn’t shy away from friends, she’ll be the one to call when she sees you from afar. In fact, she was a caring and loving character that everyone wanted to be with.
Angela’s death at the intake was like a roughedged dagger pierced into the heart of man.
Chocho, as she is sometimes called, fought her battle. During her illness, there were two things that kept her going: her son and hope; otherwise, facing another day would have been a tough one.
Angela’s beautiful spirit will live on through her son, and he will always know how much she loved him. She tried to stay for him, but God called her, and she has to go.
Her void within us cannot be filled; indeed, she is irreplaceable, but we find solace in the fact that she’s with the creator as usual, beaming with smiles.

Our beloved sister, Sgt. Sarfo Angela Ama Pokua (Mrs. Mireku-Ntim) was baptised to become a full member of Fountain of Glory in 2009. Known to many as Ama, our sister was always in church when not on duty. She diligently attended Sunday school classes regularly and was also a committed member of the Glorious Youth Ministry. Her morale in the youth department won her many friends.
She made time to participate in various camp meetings the department held and supported them whenever they called upon her.
She was passionate about prayers and was always at prayer meetings and All-Night services. Her diligence extended to her financial commitments as she was faithful in paying of her tithes and dues as well.
Ama got married here at FoG about 2 years ago to another member of the Assemblies of God fraternity. After marriage, Ama continued to visit FOG regularly thus keeping bonds she has created with many members here.
FRIENDS
Imiss the moment we shared as Best Friends. Now I figure out that there will be no more moment with you. The time we shared will forever be in my heart.

Dear Nana Ama,
Ican’t explain how much I’d miss you. Our random lunch prayer meeting, talking about food and how far God is taking us! you were full of faith , courage, strength and love. Whenever I was down you would encourage me to trust in God cause Men are scam! Sis I miss you so bad and i know you are at a better place!
The entire congregation came together in prayer when her health challenges were made known. We trusted God for complete healing and were devasted when our sister departed this earthly world. We are however comforted by the words of the Apostle Paul in Romans 8: 38-39 (NKJV)
38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Even though you’ve departed physically and we will no longer see your smile we know we shall see you one day in the next world.
Fare thee well Ama. Fare thee well Angela
May our Lord grant you eternal rest till we meet again.
Ama booozin
There is this moment, when suddenly, we become aware of the absence of our departed ones. You endured the pain and picked your scars along the way. But there is an assurance for us and my little boy puts it well; “Daddy, Auntie Ama is in Heaven”, N. K as you call him. Watch over him and Ode as their godmother. Thank you for sharing your joy with us. But can we get one more moment to share again?
Eternally LOVED

THE LATE SGT ANGELA AMA SARFO MIREKU-NTIM
Hymns
1. Rock of Ages, cleft for me, let me hide myself in thee; let the water and the blood, from thy wounded side which flowed, be of sin the double cure; save from wrath and make me pure.
2. Not the labors of my hands can fulfill thy law’s demands; could my zeal no respite know, could my tears forever flow, all for sin could not atone; thou must save, and thou alone.
3. Nothing in my hand I bring, simply to the cross I cling; naked, come to thee for dress; helpless, look to thee for grace; foul, I to the fountain fly; wash me, Savior, or I die.
4. While I draw this fleeting breath, when mine eyes shall close in death, when I soar to worlds unknown, see thee on thy judgment throne, Rock of Ages, cleft for me, let me hide myself in thee.
1. Hark! hark, my soul! angelic songs are swelling, o’er earth’s green fields and ocean’s wave-beat shore: how sweet the truth those blessèd strains are telling of that new life when sin shall be no more.
Angels of Jesus, angels of light, singing to welcome the pilgrims of the night!
2. Onward we go, for still we hear them singing, “Come, weary souls, for Jesus bids you come”; And through the dark, its echoes sweetly ringing, the music of the gospel leads us home.
3. Far, far away, like bells at evening pealing, the voice of Jesus sounds o’er land and sea; and laden souls, by thousands meekly stealing, kind Shepherd, turn their weary steps to thee.
4. Rest comes at length: though life be long and dreary, the day must dawn, and darksome night be past; faith’s journeys end in welcome to the weary, and heaven, the heart’s true home, will come at last.
5. Angels, sing on, your faithful watches keeping; sing us sweet fragments of the songs above, till morning’s joy shall end the night of weeping, and life’s long shadows break in cloudless love.

Hymns
1. Lead us, heavenly Father, lead us o’er the world’s tempestuous sea; guard us, guide us, keep us, feed us, for we have no help but thee; yet possessing every blessing, if our God our Father be.
2. Saviour, breathe forgiveness o’er us: all our weakness thou dost know; thou didst tread this earth before us, thou didst feel its keenest woe; lone and dreary, faint and weary, through the desert thou didst go.
3. Spirit of our God, descending, fill our hearts with heavenly joy, love with every passion blending, pleasure that can never cloy: thus provided, pardoned, guided, nothing can our peace destroy.
1. Lead, kindly light, amid the encircling gloom
Lead thou me on The night is dark, and I am far from home
Lead thou me on Keep thou my feet, I do not ask to see The distant scene, one step enough for me
2. I was not ever thus, nor prayed that thou Shouldst lead me on I loved to choose, and see my path but now Lead thou me on I loved the garish day, and spite of fears Pride ruled my will, remember not past years
3. So long thy power hath blest me, sure it still Will lead me on
O’er moor and fen, o’er crag and torrent, till The night is gone And with the morn those angel faces smile Which I have loved long since and lost a while
1. Now the laborer’s task is o’er; Now the battle day is past; Now upon the farther shore Lands the voyager at last.
Father, in thy gracious keeping, Leave we now thy servant sleeping.
2. There the tears of earth are dried, There its hidden things are clear, There the work of life is tried By a juster judge than here.
3. There the penitents, who turn To the cross their dying eyes, All the love of Jesus learn At his feet in Paradise.
4. ‘Earth to earth, and dust to dust,’ Calmly now the words we say; Left behind we wait in trust
For the resurrection day.
1. Abide with me: fast falls the eventide; The darkness deepens; Lord, with me abide! When other helpers fail and comforts flee, Help of the helpless, O abide with me.
2. Swift to its close ebbs out life’s little day; Earth’s joys grow dim, its glories pass away. Change and decay in all around I see: O Thou who changest not, abide with me.
3. I need Thy presence every passing hour. What but Thy grace can foil the tempter’s power? Who like yourself my guide and stay can be? Through cloud and sunshine, O abide with me.
4. I fear no foe with Thee at hand to bless, ills have no weight, and tears no bitterness. Where is death’s sting? Where, grave, thy victory? I triumph still, if Thou abide with me.
5. Hold thou Thy cross before my closing eyes. Shine through the gloom and point me to the skies; Heaven’s morning breaks and earth’s vain shadows flee; In life, in death, O Lord, abide with me!
