Good morning! I am honored to welcome you to the 14th annual New Albany Women’s Network Annual Charity Fashion Show “Fall Into Winter” benefiting Rachel’s House. The New Albany Women’s Network (NAWN) exists to provide a network for all women who live, work or have an interest in New Albany, Ohio, and to enrich and foster a united, strong community through various social, charitable, educational and community outreach opportunities. NAWN will contribute 100% of the proceeds of our 2013 Annual Charity Fashion Show to Rachel’s House, a program of Lower Lights Ministries, to help female ex-offenders re-enter society after their incarceration. Rachel’s House offers comprehensive programming through a team of mentors that includes essential life skills, such as: employment, relationships, community, citizenship, education, finances, recovery, health, and safety. All funds donated by NAWN through the Annual Charity Fashion Show will be used to support staffing and maintenance needs of the program.

Piper Wright, Events Chair; Kim Pulvino and Allison McHenry, Show Coordinators; Chrisanta Clemans, Logistics Coordinator; Tenielle Comerford and Nichole Foreman, Silent Auction Coordinators; and Robin Whittington, Graphic Designer have done an impeccable job creating this day for all of us. They are a dedicated and hard-working group and along with their committee members and volunteers have given endless hours. Thanks to their efforts, I am confident that you will enjoy NAWN’s “Fall Into Winter” Annual Charity Fashion Show! On behalf of NAWN, I extend these ladies a sincere thank you. We are also extremely grateful for our most generous supporters. I would like to say a special thank you to Christy Eckert of Capital Style, Alan Jones of A.M. Jones Photography, Mary McColgan of Rose Bredl, Natalie Dorman of Toddlesquat Bakery, Amanda Knapp of Sitting Made Simple, Dominic Chiudoni of Studio Elements, Hayley Palmer of Opulent Makeup Artistry, the boutiques featured in the show, our lovely models, and our silent auction donors. Their time and contributions made this day possible and assist greatly in our benefaction of Rachel’s House. Whether you came to support Rachel’s House, to see the classy fall fashions, to taste the seasonal food and drink, to get in some shopping, to enjoy an afternoon with friends, or all of the above, have a wonderful time!!! Thank you so much for attending and for your support! Sincerely,

THIS YEAR’S

BENEFICIARY Rachel’s House Of Lower Lights Ministries Rachel’s House, an award-winning, nationally recognized reentry program, provides holistic support for women returning to society from prison. Rachel’s House restores dignity to underserved women, empowering them to care for their families, resist addiction and impact the community for good. Instead of the hopelessness generated by cycles of poverty and unemployment, a Rachel’s House graduate leaves the program with the tools to rebuild her life. Rachel’s House understands the complexity of overcoming the barriers linked to a woman’s incarceration and, therefore, addresses the whole woman, providing the resources and hope necessary to reenter society. This is accomplished by acknowledging their need for stable housing, committed community and professional services. This holistic model includes life coaching, mentoring and peer support across 8 domains, so each Rachel’s House woman has 9-12 volunteers serving her until she graduates. Rachel’s House not only empowers a woman to resist addictions and care for her own family, but also gives her the framework for leadership. Many Rachel’s House graduates become leaders in the wider workforce, often times within Franklinton and even Rachel’s House, itself. Essentially, Rachel’s House restores a woman to her potential and invigorates the community with her presence.

WHO WE ARE AS

A N O R G A N I Z AT I O N The New Albany Women’s Network (NAWN) was established in 1998 in an effort to bring women together throughout New Albany. The founding members created the network to share information and resources, build friendships, and help create a strong, interconnected community. Since its inception, NAWN has grown from a founding group of seven members to over 280 women, working together toward a similar goal: Creating a Strong Community. NAWN is proud to be in its fourteenth year as an organization and hosting its 14th Annual Charity Fashion Show. The initial concept of the Annual Charity Fashion Show has changed since its creation in 1999, moving from a Preview Luncheon for the annual Rummage Sale, to one featuring the latest fashions from local boutiques. Overall, the Annual Charity Fashion Show has raised over $134,000 in support of our past beneficiaries: Lives of Discovery Lecture Series, The Hope Fund of Hope’s Boutique, CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of Franklin County, Huckleberry House, Child and Adolescent Bipolar Foundation (CABF), The Neighborhood Nest of Columbus, Directions for Youth and Families, Amethyst, Inc., and the YWCA Family Center. This year we are honored to support Rachel’s House, a program of Lower Lights Ministries. Thank you for joining us today as we celebrate NAWN’s goal of Creating a Strong Community.

Raffle Beginning at 11:00am, NAWN members will be selling raffle tickets for a number of fabulous prizes. Tickets are $5 or 5 for $20. Winners of the raffle items will be drawn immediately following the close of our silent auction right before the event’s conclusion. All winners must be present to win.

Silent Auction Policies and Procedures • You must be at least 21 years of age to participate in bidding.

• The bidding for all silent auction items will begin at 11:00 a.m. and end at 1:50 p.m. In fairness to those seated throughout the Modeling/Fashion Show, silent auction bidding will be suspended during the show. • Silent auction bid sheets are attached to or displayed near the item with corresponding item identification. • To enter a bid, each bidder is to print his/her assigned number and bid amount on the bid sheet.

How Can I Make A Difference? Your generosity can make a significant difference in the lives of women in central Ohio. In addition to attending today and your purchase of any silent auction items and raffle tickets, you can make a direct monetary donation to benefit Rachel’s House. See a NAWN representative at checkout. This donation is tax deductible. Thank you again for your support!

• Opening bids must equal or exceed the minimum bid amount shown on the bid sheet and must be made in the monetary increment indicated on the bid sheet. • No bid entries shall be erased/altered. Any such alteration will void the bid. • If the number of bids exceed the lines on the bid sheet, please see an event committee member or silent auction official for a new bid sheet. Do not write bids on the back of a bid sheet. Any bids written on the back of a bid sheet will be deemed void. • Under no circumstances may the bid sheet be removed from the item. • If there is active bidding taking place on an item at the close of the auction, each bidder will immediately submit a final written bid and cease all further bidding. • The last bidder number on the bid sheet that adheres to all rules stated herein shall be deemed the winner. • At the close of the silent auction, a silent auction official will circle the top bid number and amount. You can see if you are the successful purchaser by looking at a copy of the silent auction bid sheet, which will be left in its place after the section is closed. • Checkout begins immediately after the close of the auction. • All sales are final. There will be no refunds on items by the donors or NAWN. • In the event of a dispute over the final bid amount or winning bidder, members of the NAWN Board and/or Annual Charity Fashion Show Chairs will act as final authority and have the discretion to determine the appropriate dispute resolution. All such determinations will be deemed final. • By his/her purchase, the buyer waives any claims for liability or personal injury against NAWN, Rachel’s House and/or The Lower Lights Ministries, or the donor. • Forms of payment include cash, VISA, Mastercard, AMEX, Discover Card, or check made payable to “NAWN”. • All items must be claimed by the close of the event unless other arrangements have been made. • Your paid receipt will serve as proof of purchase.
