I want to thank HKYAF for inviting me to choreograph this blackbox dance theatre performance, centered around the theme of the senses. My inspiration comes from the diverse abilities of the dancers. I am intrigued by the exploration of the space between their strengths and limitations as we redefine the essence of dance My role is to highlight the unique qualities of each dancer.
I’ve encouraged the dancers to experiment, and I’m grateful for their willingness to explore solutions and find balance, making the creative journey enjoyable. Each rehearsal has been an opportunity to learn to communicate and foster an inclusive atmosphere, with Scarlette and Comma providing valuable insights that enhance our work
As the title suggests, I hope the audience can both feel and connect. "Feel" invites them to engage their senses and appreciate how the dancers use their perceptions to create movement. "Connect" signifies the importance of connection and encourages breaking down established boundaries. After the performance, I hope everyone feels inspired to bring more kindness and inclusiveness into their lives, contributing to a more harmonious society.
Senses are the inspiration for our choreography. Touch is one of them. Dancers create movements based on the sensations they experience when interacting with various materials. Each dancer's individuality and spontaneity further shape the overall experience. Audio description enriches this performance, allowing us to weave accessibility into the artistry unfolding on stage
Working with Malvina is amazing. Her extensive choreography experience blends beautifully with our strength in working with dancers of diverse abilities, fostering mutual support and learning. Young dancers learn sign language, while our wheelchair dancers share insights on navigating the dance floor. These conversations extend beyond dance and enrich our lives offstage
We hope the connection and harmony formed in our diverse team bring joy to the audience and offer a fresh perspective on appreciating art, fostering inclusivity and diversity.
We also invite you to connect with yourself and those around you.
Dance has no boundaries.
Serena Ng
Despite not being able to hear music, the silent world has not dampened my passion for dancing. I find joy in showcasing my talents and shining on stage. I hope to inspire others through our dance, impact lives with my journey, achieve my dreams, and spread the positive energy of "making the impossible possible."
In this performance, we aim to fuse different sensory experiences: to see with our ears, listen with our eyes, and feel without touching. This will redefine how we perceive the world.

Since the accident that put me in a wheelchair, I’ve often felt insecure, fearing that I can no longer do the things I used to. However, dancing alongside young performers has helped me appreciate myself again I’ve started to believe that I can explore new opportunities and gradually accept new experiences.
Diane Cheng
Providing audio descriptions for dance movements was both interesting and challenging for me. As a dancer, I typically express and share through bodily movements, so this was my first time interpreting dance from a different perspective Through various exercises and discussions with Comma, C+, Mi Mi and the dancers, I gained a deeper understanding of their needs from diverse viewpoints—such as objective versus subjective and imaginative versus factual.
Lucy Lo
A moment of connection arises among dancers when they engage through their bodies, communicate without words, and collaborate to create a dance
Kimmy Lam
Participating in Feel: Touch has taught me different meanings of dance. Music guides my movements as I swing and sway, using expressive body language to release my emotions and make an impact Audiences can immerse themselves in the world of the deaf, fostering support, acceptance, and understanding.
Leung Kit-sum
Unlike wheelchair racing, wheelchair dancing requires careful control and awareness of the surroundings for safety. During the early rehearsals, I kept my distance from my partner, worried my wheelchair might bump into them As time went on, I learned to adjust the speed of my wheelchair, which helped me move more precisely.
Connie Leung
Every dancer, choreographer, and sign language interpreter collaborate to create this dance piece, making it a wonderful experience.
Chung Chi-hung
When I was dancing with hearing-impaired individuals, I was impressed by their heightened senses. They count by observing the movements and positions of other dancers I felt a strong connection while we were dancing together.
