蘭加士特是巴羅克及古典時期音樂的專家，同時他亦以獨奏者及指揮身份蜚聲 國際，他於2006年獲授澳洲勳章，超然地位可見一斑。樂迷將一睹蘭加士特 指揮香港小交響樂團及彈奏古鍵琴，聯同悉尼交響樂團副長笛首席蕭艾瑪演奏 來自巴赫兩首享負盛名的樂曲

悠揚而絢麗的第五勃蘭登堡協奏曲及雋永昂

揚的第二管弦組曲，當中包括旋律令人難忘的《嬉戲曲》。另外，樂團亦會演 奏莫扎特的第二十九交響曲及由巴羅克時期法國作曲家雷貝爾所寫，描繪混沌 初開的《天地元素》交響曲。 “Not all musicians believe in God, but they all believe in Bach,” commented the 20thcentury composer Mauricio Kagel. Bach certainly has a lot of influence on composers after him, including the great Mozart who had transcribed many of his works.

Hong Kong Sinfonietta pays tribute to both composers in this concert, playing Mozart’s Symphony No 29 – considered by many as his first work with a fully mature “Mozart voice”, and Bach’s Suite No 2 (for flute, strings and continuo, where the famous Badinerie comes from) and Brandenburg Concerto No 5 that features the harpsichord, violin and flute.

The concert aptly begins with a very original composition by Bach’s French contemporary Jean-Féry Rebel, The Elements, that describes the creation of the world.
