主席報告 Chairman’s Report
“36 of the 50 ticketed concerts we presented were sold out and the average audience percentage was a record-high of 98%!”
香港小交響樂團一直致力拉近古典音樂與普羅大眾間的距離， 將古典音樂帶到觀眾的生活中，令生活更加美好，更多姿采， 也更能欣賞這個充滿繽紛色彩的世界。 2011/12 樂季，超過 150,000 名觀眾現場欣賞樂團達 106 場的演出，樂團舉辦的 50 場音樂會—不包括伴奏節目和免費音樂會—平均上座率達 98% 之高，當中 36 場音樂會更是 100% 滿座，證明了樂團甚 受觀眾歡迎。在此我謹代表香港小交響樂團衷心感謝觀眾和傳 媒朋友的愛戴，並向一直支持樂團的香港政府、贊助商、捐助 者及各界友好致意。 樂團音樂總監葉詠詩精心策劃這樂季的節目，多場音樂會成為 城中話題，如與法國小提琴明星葛西亞合作的法國五月藝術節 揭幕音樂會；國際綜藝合家歡中六場爆滿的《麥兜．一起看天 看海看星星》；與駐團藝術家伍宇烈合作的跨界製作《如夢逝 水年華》，除了成為 2012 香港藝術節的亮點節目之一，也是樂 團的場地伙伴香港大會堂的 50 周年誌慶節目。 這樂季，樂團繼續舉辦極受歡迎的音樂會系列（如《古典音樂 速成》、《古典音樂知多少》、《我的音樂日記》、《好好音樂日》 及 《 樂 聚 一 小 時 》 免 費 音 樂 會 等 ）， 另 外 亦 繼 續 在 太 古 坊 ArtisTree 的駐場計劃，吸引不少首次現場欣賞古典音樂的觀 2 Hong Kong Sinfonietta Limited 2011/2012 Annual Report
眾。而與流行歌手李克勤合作的《李克勤與香港小交響樂團演 奏廳》，更是透過現場演出與錄音，讓古典音樂接觸更多不同層 面的觀眾。這也是香港小交響樂團致力的「培育文化新一代」 宗旨。除了觀眾拓展之外，樂團也在不同的節目中為有潛質的 華裔音樂家、作曲家及藝術家提供演出平台，為本地的藝術發 展注入新能量。 香港小交響樂團多年來秉持的宗旨是：音樂能為我們建設更美 好的將來，我們致力推動宣揚古典音樂，並為音樂藝術及藝術 家提供適當的土壤。隨著樂團不斷成長，我們盼能贏得更廣泛 的支持，讓樂團能持續發揮力量，為香港創建文化未來，以音 樂為我們的世界加添色彩。

As an ambassador of classical music, Hong Kong Sinfonietta continues to integrate the art of music with the lives of the people in Hong Kong. In the 2011/2012 season, over 150,000 audience members saw the orchestra live in over 100 performances. 36 of the 50 ticketed concerts we presented were sold out and the average audience percentage was a record-high of 98%! On behalf of the orchestra, I would like to thank our audiences and media friends for their ongoing support. I would also like to take the opportunity to express our sincere gratitude to the Hong Kong Government, our sponsors, donors and friends, whose contributions have enabled us to realize our mission.
audiences to our popular concert series including Short-cut to Classical Music, Know Your Classical Music, HKS for Kids, HKS McDull Music Project and the free concerts Good Music This Day and Good Music This Lunch. Through our two-week residency at ArtisTree, we reached out to audiences in the Eastern district via the platform for budding musicians as well as experimental and developmental art-forms. As part of the creative team for Hacken Lee’s concerts at the Hong Kong Coliseum, we were able to integrate classical orchestral elements into the concerts (and the subsequent CD/DVD) and consequently provided a classical music nurturing ground for the 60,000 canto-pop audience.
Under the leadership of Music Director Yip Wing-sie, Hong Kong Sinfonietta began the past season (and Le French May Arts Festival’s) with a series of concerts featuring star musicians Laurent Korcia and Bertrand Chamayou from France. In the summer at the International Arts Carnival, the orchestra gave six sold-out performances of Stargazing by the Sea with McDull. The crossover production La Valse Remembered by Artist Associate Yuri Ng was not only a highlight at the 2012 Hong Kong Arts Festival but also an official celebration programme for the 50th Anniversary of Hong Kong City Hall, the orchestra’s Venue Partner.
Hong Kong Sinfonietta believes that music makes the world a better place and therefore by providing an environment which not only provides good music, but encourages the general appreciation of the arts, we contribute to the building of an ideal city. Looking forward, we hope to gain wider support so that we can continue this journey of great music for the city, and for the people.
With “Investing in a Cultural Tomorrow” as our motto, Hong Kong Sinfonietta featured many Hong Kong and Chinese artists in our different concert series this season. We continued to attract new

香港小交響樂團 2011/2012 年樂季以「What a Wonderful World!」為主題，希望透過音樂和其他藝術形式，與大家一起 欣賞與感受身處的美妙世界。 樂季音樂會內容的設計與編排，也有不少靈感來自這主題： 「欣賞」系列中的音樂會選曲（如韋華第的《四季》和貝多芬的 《田園》、膾炙人口的《梁祝》和《如夢逝水年華》中華麗的 《圓舞曲》）；「增值」系列中的四套《我的音樂日記》節目和 《麥兜．一起看天看海看星星》都以我們的美妙世界為題；「減 壓」系列中的法國五月藝術節音樂會、《迪士尼音樂之旅》、 《中電經典樂逍遙》、《最 HIT 音樂劇及電影名曲》等等，讓大 家由音符感受一下這世界不同的面貌，感受它的活潑多姿。 樂團演奏也不限於音樂廳內，我們的《好好音樂日》、在香港大 會堂和藝術中心的《樂聚一小時》免費午間音樂會，以及在太古 坊 ArtisTree 的駐場計劃等，將美妙的音樂帶到市民生活中；當 中在 ArtisTree 的節目除了樂團的演出外，還包括獨奏會、室樂 音樂會、配以紅酒試飲的探戈或小提琴音樂、講座、以至跨媒 介音樂劇場等，吸引了不少樂迷及市民參與，反應相當熱烈。 這樂季我們邀請了多位不僅國際矚目，而且充滿熱誠的演奏家 和指揮家合作，包括小提琴家葛西亞和庄司紗矢香、鋼琴家薩 馬尤和泰羅、單簧管大師哥連斯、指揮李布賴希和朗．萊辛 等，幾位炙手可熱的年青新晉如小號演奏家赫爾塞絲、鋼琴家 菲莉雅赫、小提琴家三浦文彰等亦首次與樂團合作演出。我們 也很高興再度與多位華裔音樂家合作，包括小提琴家黃蒙拉、 大提琴家羅詠媞及樂團 2009–2011 年駐團藝術家黎志華等。 同時，我們委約了香港作曲家林蘭芝和伍卓賢為樂團譜曲，又 委約作曲家兼多媒體藝術家楊嘉輝（2008/2009 年駐團藝術家） 創作融合音樂、錄像和裝置藝術的新作《基督聖像十二默想》。 此外，樂團一直銳意發展跨界合作及交流的可能，今樂季請來 了舞壇鬼才伍宇烈作為駐團藝術家，他亦為樂團構思別開生面 的演出《如夢逝水年華》、《芭蕾音樂知多少》等。 香港小交響樂團一直扎根香港，樂團的進步、對活化和推廣古 典音樂的熱誠與貢獻、在本地及海外演出的成績均有目共睹。 我們相信音樂是我們生活的一部份，它可以讓我們活著的世界 更加美好，也可以叫我們更加珍惜和欣賞週遭的一切，感受世 界真美妙。
What a Wonderful World! Hong Kong Sinfonietta’s theme for the 2011/2012 season reminded us of the bountiful world we live in – every beautiful thing in nature, the convenience and quality of life technology brings us, the arts, the people, the abundant opportunities around us… Through music and other art-forms, we encouraged our audiences to appreciate the world we live in. While everyone’s “wonderful world” is different, we prepared a wide variety of programmes to cater for different tastes: from Vivaldi’s Four Seasons and Beethoven’s Pastoral Symphony to Ravel’s grandiose La Valse, from the explorations of our wonderful world in the various HKS for Kids programmes to McDull’s Stargazing by the Sea, from songs from the silverscreen and musicals to Disney favourites. Good music is not only confined to conventional settings inside the concert hall. Throughout the 2011/2012 season we had held special performances in the morning, at lunch hours, rush hours, late night, in the foyer of City Hall, at the warehouse-turned venue ArtisTree; served coffee, sandwiches and even wine alongside the music… all with the aims to bring good music to as many people as possible as well as to provide a platform for our young artists to develop and shine. The guest artists we invited this season all shared our passion in music and in life. They included star violinists Laurent Korcia and Sayaka Shoji, pianists Bertrand Chamayou, Alexandre Tharaud and Martina Filjak, clarinet master Michael Collins, trumpeter Tine Thing Helseth and conductors Alexander Liebreich and Sebastian Lang-Lessing. We also welcomed back a few Chinese artists including violinist Mengla Huang, cellist Wendy Law and our veteran Artist Associate Jason Lai. New commissions for the orchestra in 2011/2012 included Lam Lanchee’s Lotus and Ng Cheuk-yin’s Little Star Fantasia, as well as the multimedia production of Twelve Contemplations on Jesus Christ and Mystical Love by Samson Young, our Artist Associate of 2008/2009. A definite highlight of the season was the crossover production La Valse Remembered by Yuri Ng, our new Artist Associate this season. We believe that the “Hong Kong Sinfonietta experience” is a unique one. Through nurturing artistic talents and bringing our audiences good music, great artists and carefully designed programmes, we aspire to lead as many people as possible into the wonderful world of music and the arts.

委約作品及首演 Commissions & Premières
這樂季香港小交響樂團邀請了舞壇多面鬼才伍宇烈為駐團藝術 家。駐團期間，他與樂團成員進行多次工作坊，讓團員認識自 己身體的可能性，令演奏時增加更多的可能。此外，還有幕後 的美術指導工作，及新穎的節目編排。主要合作節目包括分享 芭蕾舞音樂和將舞蹈與音樂會形式結合的《芭蕾音樂知多少》 及《如夢逝水年華》。

Multi-talented choreographer Yuri Ng joined this season as Hong Kong Sinfonietta’s new Artist Associate. Apart from being a wonderful and entertaining host for the popular educational concerts Know Your Ballet Music, he created (and danced in) La Valse Remembered in celebration of Hong Kong City Hall’s 50th Anniversary. Also a Hong Kong Arts Festival programme, the production featured local dance artists as “spirits” of the City Hall, who not only danced to Ravel’s music but appeared everywhere inside and outside of the Concert Hall when the orchestra was not playing, bringing a breath of fresh air into the conventional concert atmosphere. Yuri continues to be the orchestra’s Artist Associate in 2012/2013, working closely with Music Director Yip Wing-sie and the musicians in new productions and various workshops.
