由香港藝術發展局主辦，香港賽馬會慈善信託基金捐 助的「賽馬會藝壇新勢力」，自2017年起開始舉辦， 計劃齊集在國際發光發熱的本地藝術家，為社會各界 帶來創意、水準與本土色彩兼並的藝術體驗。過去 三屆共有38個藝術單位參與，製作72場演出及多個 重點展覽，並積極推動藝術單位與社福、學界及商界 合作，策劃超過450個社區及校園活動，總參與 人次高達38萬。2020/2021賽馬會藝壇新勢力將於 2020年9月開展，呈獻共9個精選節目，涵蓋舞蹈、 戲劇、音樂、戲曲、多媒體以及視覺藝術，並於不同 場域策動超過100個社區及學校活動，誠邀本地觀眾 參與其中，盡情體驗藝術的盎然妙趣。 JOCKEY CLUB New Arts Power, launched in 2017, is an annual Arts Festival presented by the Hong Kong Arts Development Council with the funding support from The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust. The Festival brings together established and emerging local artists to produce creative, approachable and engaging arts experiences for all. Over the past three years, 38 arts groups have participated in the festival. Together they produced 72 live performances and a remarkable number of major exhibitions. Uniting art groups and various organisations from the social welfare, academic and commercial sectors, the Festival held over 450 community and school events, reaching some 380,000 participants. JOCKEY CLUB New Arts Power 2020 / 2021 will be held from September 2020 to January 2021, featuring a total of 9 selected programme that includes dance, theatre, music, xiqu, multimedia and visual arts exhibition, as well as presenting more than 100 community and school activities.

美聲匯

史上最有名的拍檔作曲家莫扎特和劇作家達．龐蒂， 遺留後世三套不朽歌劇巨著《女人皆如此》、《費加 羅的婚禮》及《唐．喬望尼》。《當莫扎特遇上達． 龐蒂》這齣「流行歌劇」特別向兩位大師致敬，以令 人意想不到的方式把三套歌劇中的歌曲改頭換臉，甚 至來個時空人物故事情節大兜亂，在經典中加入新的 改編元素，務求令觀眾耳目一新！

美聲匯於1997年由一群香港演藝學院聲樂系畢業生成 立，音樂總監為柯大衛。藝團致力推廣聲樂，為觀眾 呈獻多元化的聲樂作品：風格從巴洛克至現代、古典 到爵士樂、涵蓋東西方，積極把本土藝術文化推進國 際舞台，提昇香港的聲樂水平。與本地作曲家合作， 參與多齣歌劇、音樂劇、錄音項目、海外巡迴演出及 製作；積極培訓本土年輕聲樂家，傳遞屬於香港的歌 聲。代表作品包括原創音樂劇《快樂王子與第四個智 者》及《希望之星Esther》，以及流行歌劇《當莫扎 特遇上達．龐蒂》等。

Synopsis

故事講述，劇作家達．龐蒂邀請了作曲家莫扎特查看 新添置的鋼琴。莫扎特帶同理髮師費加羅—一位熱愛 唱歌的朋友一同赴會。在達．龐蒂家中，他們認識 了年輕管家黛絲及其好姐妹蘇姍娜，一眾多才多藝的 俊男美女接下來會有甚麼發展？ The operas Don Giovanni, Le nozze di Figaro and Così fan tutte are offsprings from one of the most successful collaborations in the history of opera, that of composer Mozart and librettist Lorenzo Da Ponte.

Now in a jukebox “pop opera”, all your favourite songs and arias from these three great operas are strung together in a new script, where Mozart pays Da Ponte a visit with his friend Figaro, a singing enthusiast. There they get to meet the housekeeper Despina and her good friend Susanna, and the rest of Da Ponte’s talented household…

Bel Canto Singers

Bel Canto Singers was founded by a group of vocal music graduates from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts in 1997. Led by tenor David Quah, Bel Canto Singers is committed to introducing a wide range of vocal music to local and international audiences, from Baroque to contemporary and classical to jazz, blending eastern and western influences. Bel Canto Singers collaborates with local composers in numerous operas, musicals, recordings, overseas tours and productions. Aspired to amplify the voices of Hong Kong, Bel Canto Singers continues to educate local young musicians. 柯大衛於馬來西亞出生，曾奪得馬達澳洲歌唱比賽冠軍。他與 昆士蘭歌劇團合作，在莫扎特《唐．喬望尼》一劇中飾演唐奧塔 維奧，自此踏上專業演出舞台。2000年，來港發展，在香港演 藝學院教授聲樂。柯氏經常於東南亞演出，並活躍於本地樂壇。

Notes from the Music Director 《當莫扎特遇上達．龐蒂》的誕生，是為了讓更廣大的觀眾認識莫扎特的歌劇。 當一句旋律經得起時間考驗，足見其存在價值。為了讓更多人認識這些優美的古典 旋律，我特意將歌曲改編並加入現代元素，融匯貫通，希望觀眾會覺得莫扎特寫的 「歌」還真不錯。非常感恩這個大膽嘗試有幸四度公演，這也代表我們走對了路， 我們會繼續努力令歌劇音樂更易為人所接受。繼在莫扎特和達．龐蒂之後，我們的 下一個創作將會是改編浦契尼的作品呢！

When Mozart meets Da Ponte is our attempt to introduce Mozart’s opera to a wider audience. When a melody withstands the test of time, there is a reason for its survival. In order to make the tunes accessible to more audience, I took the liberty of rearranging the songs to more contemporary backings, in the hope that our audience will feel that Mozart’s “songs” are actually easy on the ear too. We are grateful that this courageous attempt is having its fourth run, meaning that we are on the right track and that we should continue to make opera easier to listen to for a wider range of audience. And continue we will, as Puccini is waiting around the corner after Mozart and Da Ponte!

達．龐蒂 Da Ponte

柯氏的演唱曲目極為廣泛，除古典音樂外，亦演唱當代作品、中國民歌及百老匯音樂 劇。2013年，他於香港參演詩人余光中的詩歌音樂會，身兼男高音、作曲家及編曲家，音樂 會更先後於新加坡、台灣巡演。柯氏亦於2014年底演唱舒伯特的第一套聯篇歌曲《美麗的磨 坊少女》，並在著名作曲家羅永暉教授創作的《落花無言》意境音樂劇場中擔任要角，此劇 於2015年在「台北香港週」重演。2016年，柯氏與鋼琴家曾華琛於香港首演舒伯特第二套 聯篇歌曲《冬之旅》，為本地首位聲樂家演唱此套作品。2018年，柯氏再度與曾華琛聯手演 繹舒伯特最後一套聯篇歌曲《天鵝之歌》。 柯氏現為美聲匯音樂總監，致力推廣聲樂藝術，並於近期的製作《當莫扎特遇上達．龐蒂》 中自編自導自演。作品於2018及2019年先後於青島及上海巡演。 Winner of the coveted Marianne Mathy Australian Singing Competition, Malaysian-born David Quah made his professional debut singing Don Ottavio in Mozart’s Don Giovanni with Opera Queensland. He moved to Hong Kong in 2000 and started teaching singing at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. He regularly performs in Southeast Asia and is very active in the local music scene.

David has premiered many roles both locally and overseas. Most recently, he sang the role of “Man” in Chan Hing-yan’s chamber opera Ghost Love in January 2018, and the roles of The Missionary and President Roosevelt in the British premiere of Chan Hing-yan’s Datong – The Chinese Utopia in July 2017. He starred as Steven Lee in the world premiere of Fences in Singapore in 2012. He also appeared in the title role in composer Lo Hau-man’s chamber opera The Legend of Zhang Baozai which was premiered at the Shanghai Expo 2010.

Besides classical music, David also boasts a wide range of repertoire that includes contemporary works, Chinese folk songs and Broadway musicals. In 2013, he participated in a concert in Hong Kong as tenor, composer and arranger, paying tribute to the poet Yu Kwang-chung, and toured Singapore and Taiwan. In 2014, David started his Schubert song cycle series by singing the composer’s first song cycle Die schöne Müllerin, and performed to great acclaim in local composer Law Wing-fai’s atmospheric music theatre When Petals Fall in Serenity which later toured Taipei as part of Taipei Hong Kong Week 2015. In 2016, David in collaboration with pianist Timmy Tsang performed Schubert’s entire second song cycle Winterreise in public. The two of them also performed Schubert’s last song cycle Schwanengesang in 2018.

David is currently Music Director of Bel Canto Singers. He conceived, scripted and arranged Bel Canto Singers’ “pop-opera” show When Mozart meets Da Ponte. This production toured Qingdao and Shanghai respectively in 2018 and 2019.

方祺端為自由身劇場工作者，畢業於中文大學中國語文及文學 系，後負笈台灣，2012年畢業於國立台灣藝術大學戲劇學系表演 藝術研究班，主修跨領域表演、跨文化劇場及劇場美學。2013年 創立眾聲喧嘩，現為其核心成員之一。作品包括：2017年導演眾 聲喧嘩《浮城．寂》(澳門劇場搏劇場「XX搏覽」節目)；2018年 於眾聲喧嘩《牠和牠和牠的森林》中擔任導演並負責文本，同年 執導香港藝術中心之《漂》及香港演藝學院之《被動式》；2019 年於眾聲喧嘩之《此地 他鄉》(康樂及文化事務署「新能量系 列」)及前進進戲劇工作坊之《放逐》擔任導演並負責文本，亦為 美聲匯之原創音樂劇《希望之星Esther》擔任導演。

柯氏曾首演多個本港及海外的歌劇角色，最近期的包括2018年 音樂總監/編曲/編劇/男高音 在陳慶恩的室內歌劇《鬼戀》首演中飾演「人」一角；2017年 於英國倫敦參演香港藝術節的歌劇《大同》，分別演唱傳教士 Music Director/ Music Arrangement/ Script-writer/ Tenor 及羅斯福總統兩個角色；2015年於音樂劇《小甜甜》中飾王德 輝；2012年於新加坡飾演沙尼的最新歌劇《欄》中的主角史提 芬。另外，他於盧厚敏的歌劇《張保仔傳奇》中飾演張保仔，並於2010年上海世博首演。

Fong Ki-tuen is a freelance theatre worker. After graduating from the Department of Chinese Language and Literature at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Fong further pursued his studies in Taiwan. 柯大衛於馬來西亞出生，曾奪得馬達澳洲歌唱比賽冠軍。他與 昆士蘭歌劇團合作，在莫扎特《唐．喬望尼》一劇中飾演唐奧塔 維奧，自此踏上專業演出舞台。2000年，來港發展，在香港演 藝學院教授聲樂。柯氏經常於東南亞演出，並活躍於本地樂壇。

Notes from the Music Director 《當莫扎特遇上達．龐蒂》的誕生，是為了讓更廣大的觀眾認識莫扎特的歌劇。 當一句旋律經得起時間考驗，足見其存在價值。為了讓更多人認識這些優美的古典 旋律，我特意將歌曲改編並加入現代元素，融匯貫通，希望觀眾會覺得莫扎特寫的 「歌」還真不錯。非常感恩這個大膽嘗試有幸四度公演，這也代表我們走對了路， 我們會繼續努力令歌劇音樂更易為人所接受。繼在莫扎特和達．龐蒂之後，我們的 下一個創作將會是改編浦契尼的作品呢！

When Mozart meets Da Ponte is our attempt to introduce Mozart’s opera to a wider audience. When a melody withstands the test of time, there is a reason for its survival. In order to make the tunes accessible to more audience, I took the liberty of rearranging the songs to more contemporary backings, in the hope that our audience will feel that Mozart’s “songs” are actually easy on the ear too. We are grateful that this courageous attempt is having its fourth run, meaning that we are on the right track and that we should continue to make opera easier to listen to for a wider range of audience. And continue we will, as Puccini is waiting around the corner after Mozart and Da Ponte!

柯氏的演唱曲目極為廣泛，除古典音樂外，亦演唱當代作品、中國民歌及百老匯音樂 劇。2013年，他於香港參演詩人余光中的詩歌音樂會，身兼男高音、作曲家及編曲家，音樂 會更先後於新加坡、台灣巡演。柯氏亦於2014年底演唱舒伯特的第一套聯篇歌曲《美麗的磨 坊少女》，並在著名作曲家羅永暉教授創作的《落花無言》意境音樂劇場中擔任要角，此劇 於2015年在「台北香港週」重演。2016年，柯氏與鋼琴家曾華琛於香港首演舒伯特第二套 聯篇歌曲《冬之旅》，為本地首位聲樂家演唱此套作品。2018年，柯氏再度與曾華琛聯手演 繹舒伯特最後一套聯篇歌曲《天鵝之歌》。 柯氏現為美聲匯音樂總監，致力推廣聲樂藝術，並於近期的製作《當莫扎特遇上達．龐蒂》 中自編自導自演。作品於2018及2019年先後於青島及上海巡演。 Winner of the coveted Marianne Mathy Australian Singing Competition, Malaysian-born David Quah made his professional debut singing Don Ottavio in Mozart’s Don Giovanni with Opera Queensland. He moved to Hong Kong in 2000 and started teaching singing at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. He regularly performs in Southeast Asia and is very active in the local music scene.

David has premiered many roles both locally and overseas. Most recently, he sang the role of “Man” in Chan Hing-yan’s chamber opera Ghost Love in January 2018, and the roles of The Missionary and President Roosevelt in the British premiere of Chan Hing-yan’s Datong – The Chinese Utopia in July 2017. He starred as Steven Lee in the world premiere of Fences in Singapore in 2012. He also appeared in the title role in composer Lo Hau-man’s chamber opera The Legend of Zhang Baozai which was premiered at the Shanghai Expo 2010.

Besides classical music, David also boasts a wide range of repertoire that includes contemporary works, Chinese folk songs and Broadway musicals. In 2013, he participated in a concert in Hong Kong as tenor, composer and arranger, paying tribute to the poet Yu Kwang-chung, and toured Singapore and Taiwan. In 2014, David started his Schubert song cycle series by singing the composer’s first song cycle Die schöne Müllerin, and performed to great acclaim in local composer Law Wing-fai’s atmospheric music theatre When Petals Fall in Serenity which later toured Taipei as part of Taipei Hong Kong Week 2015. In 2016, David in collaboration with pianist Timmy Tsang performed Schubert’s entire second song cycle Winterreise in public. The two of them also performed Schubert’s last song cycle Schwanengesang in 2018.

David is currently Music Director of Bel Canto Singers. He conceived, scripted and arranged Bel Canto Singers’ “pop-opera” show When Mozart meets Da Ponte. This production toured Qingdao and Shanghai respectively in 2018 and 2019.

Joseph Wu graduated with a Graduate Certificate (Voice) from Guildhall School of Music and Drama’s (GSMD) Artist Masters Programme under the tutelage of Marcus van den Akker, and

obtained his Bachelor of Music degree from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA) studying with Albert Lim. Joseph also received singing lessons from Professor Ian Partridge.

Joseph has performed numerous operatic roles including Soldato II in Monteverdi’s L’incoronazione di Poppea, Camille in Franz Lehár’s The Merry Widow, Flute in Benjamin Britten’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Mosquito in Leoš Janáček’s The Cunning Little Vixen to name a few.
