TULSA, Oklahoma – El próximo 8 de septiembre, 34 candidatos se medirán en elecciones primarias, para lograr un lugar en la boleta electoral del 10 de noviembre. La candidatura más reñida la constituye la alcaldía de Tulsa, la cual atrajo a 11 republicanos, 6 demócratas y 3 independientes, éstos últimos no participan en las primarias. Con respectos a los municipios, tres distritos elegirán a su concejal por los próximos dos años durante las primarias, se trata de las zonas 2, 5 y 8, los cuales solamente atrajeron candidatos del partido republicano y por ello no habrá necesidad de ir a la general de noviembre. El cargo de auditor, también irá a primarias, al menos por el lado demócrata, cuyos candidatos tratarán de ganar éste septiembre para poder competir con quien ostenta el sitial actualmente, Phil Wood de 84 años de edad. Candidatos buscan votos Los últimos días han servido para que varios de los contendientes se arrojen a la calle en la búsqueda por los votos, uno de ellos es el joven conservador Nathaniel Booth, de 18 años y candidato a la alcadía, el cual se dedicó el pasado sábado 22 de agosto, a repartir volantes en los alrededores de la 41 y Riverside. Three city districts – 2, 5 and 8 – will choose their City Council representative during the primary since in those races only Republican candidates registered for the election and therefore there is no need to continue on to the general election.
