Straight to business for HRIA’s new President
SIX MONTHS INTO MY FIRST YEAR AS HRIA NATIONAL PRESIDENT AND WHAT A WHIRLWIND IT’S BEEN.
• HIRE23 Convention review and planning for HIRE24 in Brisbane
• Marketing of the hire industry to the wider community
• Recruitment and Training for the hire industry
• Safety incidents and planned initiatives
• Review of Strategic Plan and action priorities
• New software program implementation
With the new financial year underway, I look forward to seeing some of the initiatives being rolled out in the coming months to our members.
Regards, Jeremy
In this short time, I’ve had the privilege of chairing two national HRIA board meetings, been part of a record Hire Convention, had a visit to the USA to see the American Rental Association’s Rental Show and sat in on multiple strategic committee meetings. I have enjoyed liaising with the national office team led by CEO James Oxenham, who continue to do an excellent job delivering initiatives for the benefit of our members and supporting our state meetings.
Many readers of this magazine will have attended our HIRE23 Convention at The Dome at Sydney Showgrounds in May. Whilst I have attended a dozen hire conventions over the last 15 years in variety of different roles such as delegate, exhibitor and QLD State President, this year for me was the most exciting and daunting as National President. It was an extremely busy week with a jam-packed agenda of seminars and events as well as an impressive array of equipment on display inside The Dome. It was also pleasing to read in the post-convention survey that 78% of delegates who attended are likely to return. Thank you to all members who supported our annual hire convention.
