We recently reached our 30th year of service to the industry, and are always interested in what hire wants and needs, because sometimes they’re not the same thing.

When we first started in hire, we didn’t know anything. Kennards Hire gave us an opportunity to bid on pressure cleaners that had to be 'hire proof', but we didn’t know what that meant. We were building some very ordinary pressure cleaners in the shed in my father’s backyard and thought we were doing okay.

It wasn’t until the Kennards team taught us about what happens on a hire site and afterwards as well, that we got the message about machines that are fit for hire, not machines that should be in the workshop all the time after every rental.

Building hire proof pressure cleaners has been a real journey. With the Kennards team trusting us with a big order for a large quantity of machines, the first machines we built were a gigantic breakthrough. We built what they said they needed.

Since then, we have consistently worked with the hire industry to evolve, making products that are safer, user friendly and functional.

Enter the Scud, a hire proof product

The Aussie Scud is now touted as the leading high pressure water blaster in hire fleets across Australia. The Scud delivers 4,000 psi pressure out of a Honda 13 hp electric start petrol engine. The machine comes in the unique welded stainless steel frame design that is ergonomic, easy to push around and provides real functionality and performance. We know people who rent pressure cleaners stop enjoying the experience about two hours after they start the job. What they want to do is get a machine that gets the job done fast and efficiently.

The good news is the Aussie Scud can now be delivered to hire in special configuration with a centre mounted lifting bar with lifting eye bolt, and a stainless steel hose reel with up to 30 metres of hose. It's ideal for construction sites, washing trucks and big gear and similar applications.

Aussie pumps extravaganza product range grows

Aussie’s trash pumps have done a great job in hire over the years under the famous Aussie Quik Prime brand. They served their time in 2”, 3” and 4” configurations with either Honda petrol or Yanmar diesel drives.

The pumps are super reliable and all feature high SG cast iron open impellers and a front opening port clean the pump onsite . Hire companies renting self priming centrifugal pumps need to be told to make sure they have a perfect seal on the suction side.
