As with last year’s brilliant Writing Local | Thinking Global anthology, this year’s Hillingdon Literary Festival featured a creative writing competition – specifically aiming to champion the diverse voices of our community:
Over 300 submissions to the Ordinary People : Exceptional Lives competition were received, all of an extremely high calibre. 37 entries were chosen to feature in this year’s anthology, freely distributed at the festival and to all 17 Borough libraries. The competition was judged by Judged by Benjamin Zephaniah, and the cash prize of £250 awarded to Simi Abe.
