EDUCATION

Our entire Montessori program is based on personalized learning. Each class is a prepared environment that provides each child with access to curricular materials that they can self-select.

Students work at their own pace, following their passions.

The Junior School writing centres allow for student voice and choice.

Learning Planning:

At the start of Grade 11 Biology, students were asked, “What would you like to learn in Biology”. The teacher then used these responses to personalize the course.

In this summative assignment in Grade 11 English, students were asked to reflect on their development by drawing on examples from the course and identify how the stories studied shaped them and influenced their growth.

Homeostasis Project Planning:

In the homeostasis unit in Grade 12 biology, students were asked to select a topic that relates to the curriculum and then had to develop their own learning goals (what you will learn) and success criteria (how you will show your learning).

Students were asked to undertake an independent study using a famous example of accounting fraud.
