VillageYardisaninnovativeinitiativeofHillcrestChristianCollegeandwill expandontheexistingVillageYardChristianEarlyLearning.Theschoolwill offer a low-fee, double-shift educational experience designed to support the holistic wellbeing of students, socially, emotionally, spiritually and intellectually. Our future-focused educational approach incorporates personalised learning tailored to each child’s developmental level, interests,andlearningstyles.

Burling Brown Architects, renowned for their expertise in educational facilities,havebeeninstrumentalinthedesignandplanningoftheVillage Yard Christian School. With a rich history of creating inspiring and functional learning environments, their experience brings a fusion of innovation and practicality to the project. Their design ethos aligns seamlesslywiththeschool'svision,emphasisingsustainability,community integration, and the nurturing of young minds. By incorporating natural elements and fostering a connection to the environment, Burling Brown Architectswillensuretheschoolnotonlymeetseducationalstandardsbut alsoprovidesopportunitiesforcommunityuse.

Hillcrest Christian College has been the recipient of several innovation awards through recognised institutions such as the Educator Awards, Cambridge University (as one of the Top 100 Innovative Schools in the world), and Microsoft (Microsoft World Showcase and Lighthouse School for the last 10 years). Over the past decade, the College leadership team have researched evidence-based practices, visited local and international schools and developed future-focused innovations based on research and data. In its latest innovation Hillcrest has aimed to develop an independent schooling model, Village Yard, that is affordable and accessible to a wider range of students, while maintaining theoriginaleducationalprinciplesandcornerstones.

Our curriculum is personalised to the developmental level, interests, and learning styles of the child and brought to life in a real-world context of community. Staff, students and families engage in this learning model and local and industry partnerships are developed to build young people who are able to adapttotheglobalcontextinwhichTHEYlive.

Through our unique educational model and the Bronfenbrenner Ecological Model principles, we have developed a practice model aligning our school with the wider community and embedding our values and philosophy seamlessly across staff, students and families.
