Reading Micro-credentials Micro-credentials support competency-based, research-backed professional learning by offering digital badges for demonstrated proficiency in specific knowledge and skills. Hill has developed six literacy micro-credential stacks. While not a prerequisite, these micro-credentials are a perfect follow on to the Science of Reading Bundle or Short Course. The Foundations of Reading horizontal stack develops competencies in the five core components of reading. Upon completion of the stack, receive the Hill Foundations of Reading badge. Demonstrate and develop more advanced strategies by taking a deeper dive into the vertical stacks: Phonological Awareness, Phonics, Fluency, Vocabulary, or Text Comprehension. Upon completion of any vertical stack, receive the corresponding badge.
