WELCOMING THE INAUGURAL HILDEGARD FELLOWS Classes Begin! It takes bravery to enroll in a brand new college program. Imagine, amidst the noise of teachers and media and family and the endless barrage of letters and emails from college recruiters, you catch word of a new college being founded in southern California. A new college? Do people start new colleges? You—a recent high school grad—hear about it from a parent, or on social media, or at church, and you open your phone's browser to check out the website. "We’re building a classical Christian college that equips young people to think well and to shape culture," the landing page reads. How? Through a single degree track, all students taking the same classes, combining the great works of the liberal arts tradition with entrepreneurship. Most universities push these two fields of study to opposite ends of the curricular landscape. And most universities have more than one major. They ask eighteen-year-olds to choose their own adventure and find their own way
